Ya know, I have this book on my Kindle and haven’t started it yet.. thanks for the reminder! Bunny is amazing and really made the dog button movement take off on social media. Listening to Alexis in a number of interviews she seems like an amazingly intelligent and emotionally cognizant human being as well.. who has been such a wonderful ambassador for the button dog community and advocate for Bunny and communicating with your best furry friend. Looking forward to digging into the book!

Yes! We use them to communicate every day. Though I admittedly have been lazy about adding new words and have been meaning to give her some additional ones! I still love it and she amazes me all the time. This morning she was asking "where friend", which I know recently has meant she wants to go play with her friends at her pet sitter's house. When we are going there I say "where friend, where Abu?" "Abu is at his home, Sookie go to see Abu now", etc. When I respond to her inquiries she stares at me, listens intently, and gets all excited running around when I say their names and tell her when she is going again. I know she doesn't have a concept for time for when I say oh you will see them on Saturday so I also say you're going there Saturday, that's later later ... but it does seem like my answering satisfies her curiosity, or urge at that moment that she's expressing, in some way.

My beautiful dog Pippin was put to rest this week. His passing was loving and gentle, just like he was. The house feels uncomfortably empty with just Baxter and Sasha.
