A lot of people that visit Sequoia NP are very surprised to hear about this. It doesn't seem possible Mineral King was almost a huge development. This was around the same time as people in WA fought a huge ski resort Aspen Co was going to build in our tranquil Methow Valley. That fight lasted 25 years and as with the Mineral King fight, people who opposed it, who had most of the WA public on their side, lost at the US Supreme Court but really managed to just wear down investors until they finally gave up.
