Denali Ski Ascent 2027: Tips and Gear Recommendations

Hello wonderful divas!

I am aiming to do a ski ascent/descent of Denali in 2027! I have a rad group of friends coming and a community of folks (all male) with many previous Denali summits. However, I am really struggling to find any female reports especially in terms of gear recommendations (packs, etc) or female specific pro tips in terms of training or things to bring.

I run really cold at baseline so would love recommendations for favorite baselayers/down parka/booties/gloves etc. I am a 5'4'' and 125 pounds so will also take any pack or other gear recommendations too.

I am doing 2 rounds of Evoke Endurance's Denali training plan and have a pretty solid ski mountaineering background mostly in the PNW and Colorado so super excited for the sufferfest that is Denali. Thankfully, I can take as much time off work as needed as well. Thanks y'all!

I can't really give you any suggestions regarding mountaineering gear, but I do want to acknowledge what an amazing endeavor this will be and cheer you on! I just finished listening to "30 Below: The Story of the First All-Woman Ascent of Denali" (in 1970), which I suspect you're familiar with. The hurdles that these women faced in the all-male world of mountaineering to even begin the planning for this expedition was unreal (but unfortunately not surprising)! It was a very impressive story.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your support!
