Demo-ing's got me in trouble

Im home (western NY) for Christmas and was able to get out to Bristol twice over my vacation. (Awesome place to ski - but bring your own lunch - the lines are tooo long). They have a Ski Magazine/Burton Demo center there, and on our second day out DH and I decided that 15$ would be well spent for 2 hours of demoing. I tried two skis, the first had the HUGEST grin on my face, the second left me feeling a bit blah..... I was wondering if some of the smart, more experienced divas could give me some advice on what to try next.

First, about me - Im not a small girly girl, Im 5'10" 185# and strong. I dont do well relaxing and letting skis run, I tend to be pretty active and like to push hard. Im on a set of 160 One Luvs and they have left me feeling less than confident on the bigger stuff. I love them on cruisers and trails i know really well, but on the big fast slopes, i get nervous.

The skis - they had me in shorties on both sets. The first were Olympia Victories (154) the second Volkl Fuegos (159). I thought that the Victories were going to be too much ski for me. But they felt SOLID. I had trouble getting off balance in them and they gripped the hard pack like nothing - I felt so confident and sure. Getting them onto their edges took work - but once there they stuck like glue until I asked them to release. I missed those missing couple of cms though. They felt a little sluggish when i asked them to run in the flats. The Fuegos were great skis just not for me ... they wanted to run and run and run, but they didnt inspire me.

So - long story short - we are going to get to demo again at Elk (in PA) in about a week. Is there anything else you divas should recommend that I try??

Thanks (in advance) for the advice

Try anything you can get your hands on in the 160-170 length range. At your height and weight, don't just try women's skis, either.

My faves so far have been (hard charging and a little heavier than you):
Volkl Fuego 161, Nordica Firefox 154 and Hellcat 170, Head Monster IM 78, and :love:Volkl Aura 177:love:.

Thanks! Its travel day for us ... good thing too - Im sick of western NY  The weather has been so weird here! 2 feet of snow last Friday when we got here, 60 degrees two days ago and up to 69 mph winds yesterday!!

I should be hitting the slopes next on New Years Day and have untill January 9th to get my demo list together
