DEMO HEADS UP 08-09!!!!!!

I just came from Christy Sports in Colorado and they are discontinuing their Demos for next season. So.....just a heads up if you were looking to demo from them.

They said the cost was too much to them. They said that some other shops are going to be doing the same thing.

Don't know what to make of this....but just thought you all should know!

Wow, they're a big shop, too, big population region, online sales, etc. That surprises me. Maybe everybody's trimming back in their own way during uncertain economic times.

I was thinking about having my DH demo from them during an early season visit next year. Guess not!

I wonder if this is front range stores? I asked at 2 separate Christy's here in Summit County and they didn't know anything about not having demos next year and from what I was told they will have demo skis next year.

Christy is selling off demo skis, but it is a common practice to sell off demos for next years models especially if the models change graphics, etc.

Yes. They always sell off their demos.

The Christy Sports at Flat Irons told me that all of "them" were going to stop having demos due to the loss of money on them. It would make sense to keep the demos in the ski areas.

I just report what I hear.
