Delta & US Air

I mostly fly out of Philadelphia. US Air is the airport's major carrier, and the prospect of them taking over the world doesn't thrill me. They have a dreadful reputation in Philly for baggage handling -- things are either lost or you have to wait at the baggage claim forever -- and the prices they charge are way above what you pay with Southwest.

Flying anywhere from Austin is freaking expensive these days. So-called low-cost carriers like Southwest are actually being beaten by American on many flights in my area.

I just don't understand why when gas prices came down, airline prices didn't follow.

I don't know if Delta even serves Austin, but I know US Airways does. They are almost always one of the more expensive options available from here.

As large as Austin is, you'd be surprised at the size of the airport. It's very small (though nice) compared to many other city's airports with the same population or less than Austin.
