Beginning a search for new boots. Now in Technica Diablo Flame - but hear lots of good things about Dalbellos. Anyone want to offer some advice? The old one's are packed out and with the sales this time of year I thought why not?

I'm an intermediate east coast skier.:noidea:

I have had two pairs of Dalbellos and have been really happy with them. I really think you need to try them on and walk around in them for a long time, I had a pair then switched to Technica the Technicas caused me so much pain I couldn't ski. I switched back to Dalbellos and had them professionally fit and have been very happy with them.

I went thru the whole boot fitting process when I bought my boots 4 seasons ago. They are a Dalbello boot and I absolutely love them. I can wear them from first to last chair with no adversity. Sometimes I swear they are more comfortable than my sneakers. I don't have a single complaint about them.

Definitely look at and try on Dalbello boots.

Make sure you read the boot stickies at the top of this forum before you go boot shopping.

Try on everything you can find! No one can recommend a brand or model of boot for you without physically seeing your feet. Please don't buy based on brand or color - buy what really, really, really fits your foot and meets your performance needs.

I personally did not like the Dalbello boots that I bought which were the Raya 9 I believe. The shell size for me is a 23/23.5 which was down to a 3 buckle design. I couldn't get the lower shell tight enough around my foot. The middle buckle caused all sorts of pressure on my ankle and was just uncomfortable to ski in. If you go up a couple shell sizes you get the 4 buckle design...which may or may not be better...since I have a small footie I didn't get to try it. But...so far the buckle that sits on the ankle at that angle has not been a favorite for me.

And for me, it was the ankle buckle that really helped me decide on the boots - mine are the Raya 7, but the shell size is 26.5 so it must depend on where you get them whether they're a 3 or 4 buckle?
