Custom Foam Liners, anyone tried them?

I have very small feet and no one makes a high performance ski boot that fits. I bought a pair of Lange World Cup Team boots in a size 3. I really need a size 2 but they don't make them so I am looking at getting a Conformable liner by Sidas where they inject foam into the liner while you have the boot on and it forms to your feet. Has anyone tried these liners? :noidea:

But if the shell is too big for you, you're still going to have problems. Have you looked into getting a Jr. Racing boot? I wear a size 3 boot and the boot fitter thought I'd be better off with a Jr. boot. For me the length is fine but it's the width in small women's boots that cause me problems. My boot fitter says I have a "classic" Lange foot but Lange doesn't make boots like that any more.

If you go with Jr. racers make sure the boots fit adult bindings. The 2 that were suggested to me were Lange and Technica.

I don't have that problem, but I'd think LL is right - bootfitters will always tell you using liners, padding, or anything else to fill up extra space in a shell that doesn't fit is never going to work as well as a properly fitting shell will.

I guess it's worth a try if there are no other options, but it seems like maybe a jr. race boot would work better?

I thought they only made a few different sizes of shells.

The World Cup Team is a Jr. Boot. Have you tried the Lange WC 80 Team? That boot goes down to a size 2, is a 4 buckle boot, but softer flexing than the boot you have. Sometimes when you go to a smaller shell, it stiffens up just because all of the features are being crammed onto a smaller boot. You also get less leverage on the smaller boot. You might try a gas pedal under the toe of the boots so that you get less leverage on the boot.

You are correct. The World Cup Team is the junior race boot. No ski shop had size 2 in the team 80 to try on. My other concern was that the boot might not fit my adult bindings. I have ordered the foam liner and I'm going to have it fit in a week or so. Hopefully it will snug the boot up and I'll be ready to hit the slopes when the snow falls. Thanks:smile:

I am short, and have small feet, too and for years fought the too-high cuff on the ski boots. I lived throught the "Let's just make a smaller men's boot" and pawn it off on the women thing, and struggled for years. Finally, a trainer I had (when I taught skiing) suggested that I just buy kids boots. I know most boot manufacturors make high end kids boots (race). I ski Technica, and for at least 8 years, have skied in the race boot for juniors.

Then, I did have some custom liners made, and I loved them. But I also heard other women compalain about those same custom liners, but I actually ended up getting much longer wear out of them than the liners from the boot manufacturors. I had Sure Foot make mine, they were all over Colorado.

I believe there are also Junior Race bindings that might fit your foot, some of them have DIN settings that go up to at least 10, I believe, so you would still be fine, Tecs suggest you have a binding that has a DIN scale where you fall somewhere in the middle.
