I just had to do a math paper with my daughter where we tallied up all the states we've been to. I hit 46: I'm missing only N and S Dakota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

WOW! Nice total! Has your kid been to all those states too? If so, that's a great experience to get as a kid!

I used to have a job where I travelled a lot all over the place. When my neice and nephew were little, I bought them a big map of the world, and would send them postcards from wherever I was. They would look at the card and then get to find the place on the map, and at least have a little taste of the rest of the world.

Unfortunately, no. She's been to only 8. But also Switzerland, Italy, and Canada, which is more than I'd done at age 10. My son has been to more states, but he was a baby: we drove from Virginia to Alabama and Florida, so we hit about 7 states there.

To be honest, I was a baby for quite a few of mine. My dad was in the military when I was young. We lived in New Jersey, and we were transferred to Alaska. And we drove. Through Texas, to visit grandparents. So I hit a few states on that trip, LOL! Most of those states I've been to since, but not Oregon or Washington.

We've traveled a bit, but usually we fly, because DH doesn't have the time to take 2 weeks off at once. Those long driving vacations that I did as a kid just don't work for us. Which is too bad, because it's the best way to see the USA.

We had some friends who flew to the East Coast, rented a car, and did a driving trip that way, up through New England. We might try that, but it sounds awfully expensive. It would save 5 or 6 days of getting there and back, though.

I'v been to 42. Missing Nevada, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Iowa and Wisconsin. Between ski racing, 3 cross country drives by myself taking different routes each time and various travel with family I've hit most.

I've been to 37. Since I used to travel a lot for work, I made a rule for my list that I can only count states where I left the airport and really spent some time in the state. I seem to be missing a bunch in the northern middle of the country inc Michigan, Wisconsin, Minn, SD, ND. I plan to visit them all, but the most likely in the next 1-2 years will be Alaska, Idaho and Montana.

Thanks to my grandparents, I think I've been to/through/in every contiguous state except Washington, Oregon, Montana and Maine. Haven't been to Alaska or Hawaii yet, either.

Have also been through most of Canada and have been to England, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Love to visit new places and work travel has helped quite a bit with my country list although I haven't added any new ones in several years. Hope I get the travel bug back soon (and the economy improves). I just renewed my passport and it's so naked without any stamps!

US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Japan, Philippines, Aruba, Grand Cayman.
