Confessions about staying home

SnowHot

Hello my name is snowhot and I'm a ski addict!

However, I have a confession to make.
Last year I was a bit "life fatigued" and needed some down time. I faked being under the weather so my husband would go skiing without me and let me stay home all day by myself and I could reconnect with ME!
This was extremely out of character for me, but it felt so good to have the house to myself and hibernate for the day......ALL ALONE!

As much as we all love skiing........how many of us have actually forfeited a day on the slopes to regenerate?

Okay, who are you REALLY, and what have you done with SnowHot?

I just went through a little rebellion of my own. I taught a Woman's Workshop last weekend when it was freezing--got frostbite on my face. Then, Thursday night I got the flu. So, I took off Friday and Saturday too---worked in my studio, rested, had some fun. Did hundreds of things that I had neglected--took down the Christmas ornaments. Today, I went to work and rediscovered that I like to teach skiing.

You know sometimes you have to take time for yourself. We as women/mothers/wives don't do it enough. So the house doesn't get cleaned or there are dishes in the sink. Dinner got on the table tonight (maybe take out) and thats all that got done today and I feel better for it. Do it before things start to overwhelm you. We DO deserve it!

Glad you're feeling better!

I did something similar, just last weekend. I was so tired, I was afraid I was trying to get sick again. I stayed home Sat, with full intention of going Sun & Mon (it was a 3 day weekend). I ended up staying home all weekend.

My husband and oldest kid were camping on Sat & Sun. I convinced my youngest that if he cleaned his room, we would go to McDonald's and then get the stuff to make his Pine Wood Derby car. Then he played outside and let me have a nap. Later he helped me clean up the kitchen table so he could paint his car. We had fun and I got to sleep in for 3 days.
