Ok....I'm not freaking out yet, but I am a little concerned! We are having some Snow difficulties in Colorado so far this year!

Not to worry! It is still early, but I thought I'd share some of the webcams pics of our resorts as of Today, 11-11-07! Yikes!

The storm today and later this week will hopefully bring some good snow.

I hope that Alta will be open next weekend as planned. I am really itching to ski.

We had our ski swap yesterday, and the snow (or lack thereof) was pretty much what everyone was talking about. As a lot of people noted however, this was almost the exact same conditions as three years ago (except maybe not this warm) and Mother Nature did eventually cooperate, so I'm not going to panic (yet). But boy, I'm itching to get out there. Unfortunately, we're not going to get much out of tonight/tomorrow's storm. I WANT SNOW!!!!

I'm feeling the same way, trying to remember that I don't need to freak out yet. I've skied A-Basin last Sunday and Today and the good news is that the snow that is there is in pretty good condition.

It better or my midwestern visitors are going to lock and load on me during thanksgiving.

On a different note, it's beautiful in Denver.... t shirt and shorts. I did manage to buy two new pairs of ski socks today however to remind me what's up.

Will be heading up to Copper tomorrow for day two.

Was hoping this latest blip in the weather was going to bring in some snow tonight...what a tease the forecast orginally was!

This time last year, I already had 10 days in...but that was such a great early season.

Am I complaining?? Nope. Even though there is no fresh snow, it is still a day on skis!:ski2:

Oh, let me know how it is! I'm taking Wednesday off of work to go ski Copper as well. By the way Ski Nurse, I work in Centennial so we're probably pretty close to each other.

I'm planning on going to Winter Park's opening on Weds.

Copper was crowded on Fri. I heard a rumor that the resort was at 80% occupancy. Lots of out of state license plates in the parking lot.

At least its cold enough at night to blow snow.

I biked 11 miles today and have 4 ski days in. Not bad, bike and ski, ski and bike.

Yeah, I was up at the condo today and things were hopping. Lots of ski teams getting in early training, not tourists, technically.

Copper conditions today: Hard packed mostly w/ some bare spots. The bare spots were not there last week. To their credit, it seemed that they had blown a lot of snow the night before so there were some really nice soft areas. MORE race teams today. Instead of just the race courses being set up on Copperopolis, 1/3 of the width of Main Vein was also set up for racers. Mostly cloudy w/ the sun poking out through the clouds by the end of the day. Early snow flurries, but NO accumilation.

Still a good day..plus I picked up my new boots from Sure Foot!

Thanks for the report. I can't complain about race teams since I coach for a team at Copper  but understand the frustration for general public skiing. Hopefully they'll blow more snow tonight and tomorrow night to cover some of those bare spots by Wednesday.

Alright ladies, just keep doing that snow dance. It looks like we could get nailed on Tuesday/Wednesday of next week. Which would be perfect for me since I plan to ski on Thursday.:becky:

We're planning our annual bicycle ride to Red Rocks with our bicycle club next Thursday (Thanksgiving Day). The forecast for Thursdays high is 21 degrees.

Of course, that could change.

Ok.... a good dumping next week would make it whiter up there! That's all I want....a beautiful white mountain with some white up in the treess!!

Kindof like this:

The weather won't cooperate.

from a ski resort official:

No opening date has been set. It is on a day by day basis. We had 27 guns going last night and the same tonight. There is little chance we will open this weekend................My guess is that we will open the day after Thanksgiving.

This email was to tell the hosts not to report for scheduled days this week, as planned opening was Friday 11/16.

I remember the days when by this time of year we had several full-on blizzards. Global warming, or whatever, sux.
