Cold Toes? Boot Caps Get Rave Reviews

So many great reviews. I have been using Boot Gloves for years and they help, but off piste, I end up with powder packed up under them and they're not getting the job done. Since I have to have custom footbeds, I can't get boot heaters and the heated socks don't fit in my tight boots. Fingers crossed on these.

Anyone out there using these Boot Caps?
As others have indicated, I have custom footbeds and have had hottronics boot heaters installed in several different boots over the years. I'll be interested to hear more about the Boot Caps though.

I was just browsing the Bootcap store online and saw that they have a few limited time patterned ones, including a pink leopard print if anyone is so inclined.

I have a set arriving today. Fingers crossed they work. I plan to use them in conjunction with boot gloves. Less likely to fall off that way too.

I tested them for a season the first winter they came out. There is no difference between the originals and the current Hotronic boot caps. I liked them. They definitely kept my toes warmer even without boot heaters. I prefer them to boot gloves because I can get to my buckles easily for adjustments.

That said… I prefer boot heaters if I have to choose. In combo, they’re great

I'm thinking I add boot gloves as well, they are giving me more time before warming up but I wonder if the combination would be better.

I just installed them and looking forward to trying them this weekend. Im curious how the adhesive will hold up in the cold. I reinforced with a few dabs of superglue too though

After a few months of them, I think they're a decent improvement, but not a cure and I am not convinced they're worth the $. I find snow traps between the top of the boot cap and my lower buckles (when I have had the pleasure of skiing in deep snow) so the top of my foot gets deep chilled.

We've had rough conditions this year with thaw/refreeze cruddy snow and thin cover and I am banging into a lot of plant matter. The corners are coming up on both my boot caps and spouse's. I'm hesitant to use superglue.

In general, I have colder feet this season because we've been skiing mostly groomers and my heart rate doesn't get up as much. The snow in the lower half of the West has GOT to come at some point, right??

I agree, they do help a little but nothing like heated socks or boot insoles

I used boot caps last year and honestly did not notice a difference. My toes were still painfully cold. This might be a me problem, my toes are always cold

My understanding is that at best they add 10°F to the internal boot temperature directly under the boot cap area. So if you usually start cold and get colder it probably won't help, but if you start warm - I always try to put my boots on warm and indoors - then it can help you last longer. Of course, that doesn't fix circulation issues like Reynauds or if you have a pressure point in your boots affecting circulation!
