Cold Toes? Boot Caps Get Rave Reviews

So many great reviews. I have been using Boot Gloves for years and they help, but off piste, I end up with powder packed up under them and they're not getting the job done. Since I have to have custom footbeds, I can't get boot heaters and the heated socks don't fit in my tight boots. Fingers crossed on these.

Anyone out there using these Boot Caps?

You can get boot heaters installed in custom footbeds. Whoever made should be able to do it. My boot fitter used to have a video on his website, but I see it's gone. But it CAN be done.

I can't ski at Tremblant in January without them.

I also used to use boot gloves but found they didn't work well since snow got under them and my toes stayed cold. I love my boot heaters that were installed on my custom footbeds. They add the heating element under the toes and run the wire underneath the footbed. There are a couple different types out there and they should be able to be attached to the footbed.

I have a weird thing about not using batteries, but it's a good tip for future reference.

These do look promising... much easier to deal with than boot gloves (which don't seem to do too much for me, anyways) and much less expensive than boot heaters. I'm kind of with you on the battery / boot heater thing. It's just one more thing to deal with.

Did you order some? Very curious to hear what you think!

Yes. I will report out. I read numerous reviews by patrollers and ski instructor who are outside for long stretches, Some people use them in conjunction with boot heaters and others start that way and are able to stop using the heaters!

There was a thread about cold feet that included comments about the Hotronic Boot Cap. For those who don't know . . . Hotronic has been in the boot heater business for a while.

I just added those caps to my boots last week! I am going to replace my old custom footbeds this season as well as install the Thermic boot heater system this time. I have had Hottronics for several years. I'm just wanting to employ the dual option in case Canada trip becomes super cold.

Adding to marzNC. Boot GLOVES are thin neoprene that also gets wet and stretches easily enough for snow to get underneath. Then there's the fact that there are all kinds of foam. There are foam coffee cups and $2 foam cooler.s Then there's foam used in aeorspace applications. Fit, density, and thickness matter, too. But for the price, asking hard questions is well-advised! My Boot Caps will arrive in a few days and I'll give my first impressions.

The Boot caps I have are from Evo. Bootcap 2.0. About 60 dollars a pair. They are adhered with a hairdryer onto the front and top of your boot . They wrap the entire toe and mount above where your binding toepiece would be. ( a strip is provided to approximate that distance so you know where to place the bootcap) I wasn't interested initially when my husband asked me if I wanted him to order me a pair since he was getting a couple for his boots. However, when I saw them after he'd heated them onto his boots, I was impressed with their thickness. They are not like any foam you'd think of. they have a pretty dense feeling and are slick on the top. I believe they will work very well.

I went with K2 heated boots, game changer. Feet are always cozy now!

I went with black for my black boots - glad I did. They're not really noticeable. They went on easily - make sure you leave that gap to click into bindings. The foam density is impressive.
We are getting our first real snow (that reaches the valley) right now - nice and thick. Hope to be able to x-ctry ski on the golf course in a bit. Feet are itching to slide.
