Cold feet

Right? So DH told me the other day he wants to try heated socks. I was a bit baffled... he normally has sweaty feet but after yet another day of standing in line for several hours waiting for the lifts to open even his feet get cold. He has hottronics, but apparently something is wrong with them and he had several people telling him that heated socks are now better. I remain skeptical....

But if things have changed maybe I need to be buying him heated socks for Christmas... ?
I tried the thinnest of heated socks available and my feet are far too sensitive to wear them for more than an hour or so.
I like the newere thinner boot heaters that go on the footbed because they are undetectable 100%.
Now...that being said, I have not tried the boot caps because I recently got new boots without a usual toe dam so they won't really work for my boots, but I may put them on another pair of boots I have when they are avaiable.

Keeping in mind what @mustski said. When you put them on, don't plan on being able to remove them any time soon. They really stick.

When you say your feet are too sensitive do you mean they get too hot or are they too thick in your boots?

What color did you order? I chickened out and got black since my boots are white with black buckles, but that pink looked fun:smile:
I went for safety yellow. But I was tempted by the orange +pink.. If they weren't $50 I would have gotten a 2nd pair. Already got email that shipping label was printed. Hope they will fit on my touring boots

@SnowHot any thoughts (as a boot fitter) to the idea proposed by the member on Ski Talk who is running a heating element on the top of the toe (inside the boot) and running the wire along the tongue? This seems so intuitive to have "some" heat available inside the boot, but not have to have the wire running under your footbed........

My response from them:

Hi Jill,

We are only shipping to the U.S. this season. We will be in Canada next year.

We appreciate the interest and thank you for reaching out!

I tried the thinnest heated socks my bootfitter recommended (said the racer's wore them/liked them at that resort). I assumed the racer's had snugger fitting boots than me, but it didn't take but a minute or two with the socks in the boots before my toes started to burn because everything was too tight (I hadn't even turned the heat on). As someone that goes on weeklong ski trips I also decided that I didn't want to have to buy multiple pairs of $100+ socks.

In theory the socks were appealing because I think the heat wraps around the top of your toes better than the heated soles which only heat from the bottom, but fit wise it just seemed to be a no go.
I finally bought heated socks at the end of last season. At the recommendation of my bootfitter (who said get socks, not boot heaters), I got Lenz heated socks. The 6.1 socks are quite thin, and compression fabric. They work fine. I like being able to use the app on my phone to adjust the levels up and done, together or separately. The only thing I don't like is how long (i.e. tall) they are.

That’s what I tried! I do have different boots now, maybe I‘ll consider trying again one day.

Thank you to this thread for helping me finish off Christmas shopping for my husband, who always has cold toes (even though the rest of him is warm!)

Thanks for posting this. I am contemplating the same Lenz socks. I want the thinnest possible, and it seems to be these.
