The early forcasts were promising snow for all - but as things progress - this is looking like a big dumper!!

I am so EXCITED. Anyone in Crested Butte? Aspen? They're talking 1 foot ++ Telluride forcast is for 3 feet!!

Wow. My first big real storm out here. I feel like a kid the night before Christmas. I will be there for first gondola at the base of Ajax.:snow: :snow: :snow: :snow: :snow:

Well, I want snow but since I have to drive up and back down tomorrow I'm hoping that we don't get road closures on I-70. Now, give me one of these when I have the Vail house and I'll be ecstatic. Last year I got "stranded" in Vail during the blizzard on the Front Range. It was fantastic since nobody could get up the mountain the slopes were empty and it was snowing just enough for every run to be fresh powder! That was a dream day. :yahoo:

I'm with you! I'm way excited!! Mostly because we're doing the ski free thing at Crested Butte in a week...so hopefully it'll be really worth it after this storm!! Whohoo! CB has 5 inches and counting! :snow:

We've had 15 3/4" of snow this week at Tremblant. And more coming Sunday and Monday. I'll be there to ski some eastern powder!! Best opening in years for them.

We're going to Wolf Creek on Sunday. They've reported 28" of new snow as of this morning, and it's still coming down!

Would LOVE to be there...still nothing in sight for the Sierra. But we are headed Aspen-way come New Years! :yahoo: (see my flagrant plea for ski buddies over in Meet on the Hill!)

In the meantime, enjoy!

Dang. All we'll be getting here is the usual "wintry mix." If we're lucky, that is. Otherwise it's rain. There are few things worse than rain in 40F degree weather, but I can't think of them right now....

Over here it's one of those really windy days, and three inches of snow came down this morning. It just switched over to pouring rain which is freezing into a nice layer of ice over all the sidewalks and roads. It'll probably turn out to be wintry mix for a bit tonight, maybe it'll make it's way back to snow.

29" in 48 hours in Aspen/Snowmass. Wow. That's all I can say. For a New England transplant...I can easily say these were the first true powder days of my skiing life. Waist deep on Sunday morning...so SO good.

Long lunch today??? Ummm, yeah!!!

My sister in law lives in the denver area. She said she hasn't skied yet this year because there was no snow, but will ski this Friday.

Her husband, on the other hand, has skied a few times a week since the opening day at A basin.

Tell me that winter is on the way to Colorado!!!

It's on the way. If we get predicted snow over the next few days it will take us from below average snowpack to above average.

It does seem like all the bad weather, i.e., warm and dry, we had early on may finally be behind us, or at least I hope it is. They interviewed our VP of Operations for the paper today, and he said it's really unusual for us to have so much terrain open on natural snow this time of year.

We've gotten pretty lucky in the last couple of weeks. And this weekend is looking really, really good as well. I know Utah hasn't been quite as lucky and could use some of this, so I'm hoping some of this storm catches them as well.

No natural snow but the snow guns were running full time! Now the natural snow is catching up. Good time to work on skills and get ski legs back. Today was my 13th ski day!

Good luck on her getting to the high country, I met someone on the lift who spent 2 1/2 hours trying to get here from Boulder this morning.

Woke up to 18" on my car in Aspen. 24" has fallen at Highlands, just in time for their opening day tomorrow. Snow not supposed to stop until Saturday night. Life is good. Life is very good.

World Cup women's downhill may be cancelled - but who cares! The locals just hope the dumping continues!!!

Now this storm is definitely doing us some good! Whohoo! The feet of snow continues to fall across Colorado! So, SnowHot, winter is definitely here! Crested Butte has 35 inches and it's still coming!!

I GOTTA quit reading these snowfall posts!

Rain all day here in the valley, there should have been SO much more than an inch and a half up there on Bogus!

We're NEVER going to get enough to ski on
