Cloudveil RPK pants

Do any of you Divas have the Cloudveil RPK pants? I love them but for one major flaw -- the gaiter doesn't fit around my ski boot! My ski boots are not unusually large or wide, and so I am perplexed. The gaiter has velcro to close with a snap on the bottom, very well made and works perfectly when I'm wearing regular boots, but I can barely get some of the velcro to touch over my ski boot and if I have to adjust, forget it! The Cloudveil website says the following about these pants: "a stretch gaiter seals when searching for a stray ski." Huh? No way. I bought these pants specifically for pow skiing, so I'm perplexed and annoyed.:frusty:

Have them, love them...don't have a problem with the gaiter.

Weird. I emailed them to see what they think. Seems like a small company so I expect they'll respond. Great pants though, eh? Flattering too. :eyebrows:

hubby has a pair, loves them, but he wears tele boots so it's a different gaiter scenario...

heard this before

Someone else had mentioned this in the thread I started about ski pants sizing advice (still on p.1) in re the Cloudveils - which really is somewhat mystifying, given the reputation, materials, etc. I even think someone else had a issue with same specific part falling apart?? Whoa! Not for THAT price! Hope you get some mfr satisfaction! If you totally love them, want to keep them, and consider making custom modifications, I know someone who is really reputable :D

Yes, they are very flattering. Not like wearing ski pants at all!

I think you should get a good response from Cloudveil. In fact, maybe it is just the pair you have & they'll replace them.

The guy that did my boot fitting this year is an amateur extreme competitor skier. A couple of season ago, he was jumping off of a 30 foot cliff  caught an edge on a rock and suffice to say, didn't make the landing. He did ski himself out to patrol HQ, where he was flown out. Luckily for him, he was wearing a helmet & full body armour.

Oh yeah, he was wearing head to toe Cloudveil. The EMS people cut off his pants...they were in shreds. He sent the pants back to Cloudveil (along with his story) and they replaced them for free!:humble:

I have them also, and I haven't had any problem with the gaitor. It sounds like they may have made a mistake on the sizing?
