Children's helmets and Attraxion IIIs

I was just wondering if anyone knows any good helmets that would fit a 3 year old girl? She does have a rather small head so I think we may have a problem fitting her?

Also, what have you heard about Rossignol Attraxion IIIs?

Thanks so much!!!

You really have to try the helmets on. Boeri, Giro, to name a couple make decent helmets for kids, but the fit is the most important thing over which is the best brand. The helmets have ratings, just make sure you get the appropriate rating. Most come with additional padding so you should be able to custom size one if you need to. The Boeri tends to run smaller, but watch the temple area on these ones, some are cut really high here and don't fit some kids as well because of.

First off, childrens helmets. Glad to know that you want one. Louis Garneau is another maker of kids helmets. If you can't find one that fits a child that small, a ski hat (I just about said toque) and a hockey/skating helmet will work for awhile till you find something. Don't try a bike helmet.

Second - Attraxion III - Rossi ladies ski. The 5 is the top of the line, with the new 9 above that but with the mutix arms. ($1200.00 here in Canada- nuts!!) So a good intermediate ladies ski. The 5 will be stiffer. I found it not stiff enough compared to my Z5's, but the side cut was similar.
Just what kind of ski are you looking for. Give us some details about how you ski, what you like to ski and where you ski. We can help!!

I dont think there are too many places around to try on kids helmets so I was planning on trying to buy one online (figured if I could just find out which one was the smallest...it would work)

The Attraxion IIIs are last years model, getting them for $499 i believe. These are my first shaped skiis, teh last pair I had were ten years old (at least) and were 177s. I'm 5'7 and 155 lbs, I haven't been skiing in five years (before I had my daughter). I am heading to Banff AB next weekend to ski (SOOO excited) so I was trying to have new ones before that. My neighbour was helping me find a pair and he thinks these Attraxion IIIs are the best deal.

I used to ski quite a bit when I was younger and I think I'm a fairly intermediate skiier ... from what I remember, although I could suck now lol ;)

Is $499 with binding? I think that that price might be high for last years stuff. I'll check with my local shop tomorrow. But as far as the ski is concerned, sounds right for your type of skiing.
To size a helmet, take a tape measure and measure around the head of the child where the helmet will sit, just 2 fingers above the eyebrows, measure in cm's (or convert from inches)
And Banff's open??? Hadn't heard that yet. Didn't think anything was open in Canada yet! SkiPress always tells!

Jilly, thanks so much for checking for me! Yes, the price is with bindings...I hope i'm not getting screwed!! lol

And yes, apparently the hills open Nov. 9! My friend does marketing for the hills out there and that is the news from her!

My little one is 3 and we just found a Carrera XS childs helment that fits him. Also a 5 yo girl in a new Giro that has a handy gidget on the back to tighten/loosen the fit so it is adjustable and will hopefully last a few years. Have a great trip!! Very jealous of those on the slopes already. Just getting our first mountain flurries in VT.

Dropped by our local ski shop at lunch. He has last years Passion III's for $ 449, so $499 for the better Attraxion I guess is good. Had to find out though.

hahaha, thanks Jilly! I'm so glad you did check because I am such a thrifty shopper and I always have to make sure I get the best deal ;) However, when its possible, I'd always RATHER support the local shop.

Wish I could point you to a good shop in NB, but I don't know any. Stay away from the Sport Experts, Sportcheks or National Sports. In fact if they sell hockey stuff - Leave!! These are box stores and know a little about everything, and nothing about anything. But I do know an Level 4 instructor from down there. Not sure which hill/mountain, but if he's at Tremblant in December I'll ask him for advice. It might be slanted to Dynastar as I think he's still sponsored by them.

Well there are two decent shops in town (each selling a different selection/brands) but honestly, I am a little intimidated going in there because I dont really have a clue what I'm looking for! But you gals have been really helpful! Its so nice to have advice from other women who know whats going on available! Thanks!
