This is sort of pointless but hey why not?

I was feeling very "susie homemaker" last night and decided to make some cookies for my husband so, I made some dark chocolate oatmeal drop cookies. (yum!)
Now, I can't stop eating them. I ate 4 last night and couldn't eat my dinner. Then this morning as I was making my breakfast I snuck one thinking "oh one isn't going to hurt. Well, that one led to another and then another. Breakfast became chocolate cookies. I feel sick now.

Apparently I have no will power.
These cookies have some weird control over me.

You guys ever have this problem?

Yup and that's why there is no chocolate in my house!! I bought hubby some white chocolate macademia nut cookies on the weekend. Good thing they were small and about 2 dozen. When it got down to about 10 left I only had one.

This may seem like a stupid solution to this problem, but it's one I used and it worked for me.

I set up rules.

If there were cookies/fattening things/whatever in the house, I told myself that they belonged only to my daughter and that I was not allowed, under any circumstances, to have them.

Believe it or not, it worked. If there was a rule in place, I would not break it. :nono: For some reason it's better than 'no, I can't eat that, it's fattening.' Who knows. It's all in my head, I know, but hey, don't knock it if it works.

This is why I try to only bake when I have someone to give the results to. Over the winter, that meant the lifties at Sundown had cookies every weekend.

Heck! I can't even get it into the oven!

I am proudly a "Cookie Dough Ho!"

(but I gotta stop.....my thighs, butt and the new floatation device that I have accumulated is just TOO MUCH!!!!!!)

I'm always beaking the rules...

Yes, I can not have any goodies in the house. I will eat the entire bag, box whatever before I even realize it. It's very sad. I have no discipline when it is in front of me.

Candy, cookies, cake, frosting, ice cream....chips & crackers last maybe a little longer.

So, if a craving for one of the above hits me and it is not in the house...the craving will just magically go away. But, if I give into the craving, I'm doomed.:boxing:

Is this the "hozone" you referred to in the other thread?!

Oh! so I am not alone??
Didn't think I was. I have managed to steer clear of the cookies today, I had great success with SkiDiva's method. I am thinking of the cookies as belonging to my husband not me.
It's working so far. I am still having him take them in to work..... I need to stay out of this hozone.
Nothing like doing PT in shorts, in front of a mirror to show you just where those delicious cookies end up. :fear:

Oooh I like this idea. Maybe I will have DH take some up with him to Meadows on Saturday.

Boy can I relate to this thread... I can not resist sweets. I just can't keep myself from having one... then another... then oh another won't hurt... and so forth until only a couple are left and it's "well I might as well just finish them". Easter candy was my last will-power defeat. Thankfully no more candy holidays for 6 months! (which equates to no more 75% off left over candy sales calling to me from the shelves at the market!):loco:

I absolutly love to bake too. But seeing as neither my husband nor I should be downing the fruits of my labor I just refuse to have baking supplies/cookie mixes/etc in the house. That's the only way to keep my waist-line safe!

My only problem will be next month. My Dad insists on "glazed strawberry pie" Right now I'm working on a Splenda version as he's diabetic. He didn't get any last year.

Hello, my name is Marcy and I too am a (dark) chocaholic, soft chewy cookie addict and icecreamaholic. And NVG, I'm definitely a cookie dough ho'. If I don't keep at least a small amount of one of the above in the house, then there are times that I'll keep trying other things to the point of miserable because nothing satifies the "need". Starting Monday (after the wedding weekend), I need to add on to the weight loss thread, but I'll still keep a little sweet in the house so I'll know I have the "option" but MUST resist! Shameful Mouse
