Hi all!

We have spring break this upcoming week and I might be heading downstate. Just wondering what might still be open next week. I see some of the places have closed already. We have a few up here that have extended into next week, so I thought I would check.

Any info would be appreciated.

Just giving this a bump because:

a) I want people to see it and

b) I want to hit 100 posts:ROTF:

Last I checked Crystal was open through this weekend and Nubs for another two (and maybe during the week, too). Didn't look at the Boyne's at all. Caberfae is closed.

I'm 90% sure we'll be at Nubs on Saturday - won't know for sure until tomorrow sometime.

SuperMoe -

PM me if you're coming this way....I still want to thank you in person (buy you a beer or pop!) for the stuff you sent me about Rob's death.

I'll be at Crystal all this weekend.

Next weekend we'll be at Nub's for at least 1 day, unless I have family stuff to attend to due to the death of my Grandpa yesterday. (it's been a rough couple of weeks :( ).

Supermoe The Highlands is closing for the season on Sunday but the Mountain is staying open a while longer. I'll check saturday I have to be at the Highlands in the morning, but in the afternoon I'm going to shoot back down to Boyne. On a side note do you know if Marquette mtn. is going to stay open through mid april Again? I would like my son to take a look at NMU, he is more interested in getting on the hill, than transferring to the school. Lol! OH well. Teenagers! You can't live with them, and you can't just leave them on the side of the road. Mainly because they would just find they way home and eat all your food before you could get back! Lol Just kidding. I think.:noidea:

Thanks!

Perma...here's the latest info from MQT Mtn website:

Now that night skiing is done we will still be skiing daily from 9:30-5:00 thru April 6th. Please stay tuned for hours after that.

Num:

I mostly stay in the upper 1/2 of lower michigan. My sister lives in Tawas, might hit that...might go open my parents house up, they'll be home in a few weeks. Not sure though, just looking for something different this break.

Thanks to the other divas...sorry to hear about your grandfather Volkl.

Thanks ladies! :grouphug: You're great.

He was healthy and active until Monday 2 weeks ago when he was admitted for a brain bleed. That Friday he was off the vent and feeling pretty good. I talked to him on Saturday and he sounded fine although he said he had a headache. On Sunday, Mom and I tried talked to him but he sounded out of it. We just figured we had awakened him, but apparently not. Late Sunday night he became unresponsive to anything but pain and by last Wednesday, they saw no sign of a meaningful recovery. . So Mom flew down (Florida) and they pulled the feeding tube on Saturday. He went on Wednesday. I guess I just knew when I woke up because I was like this all morning  . Mom called to tell me at 8:30.

Grandma has Alzheimer's and he had been taking care of her. Of course, he put off making arrangements for her if anything happened to him. Mom will be bringing her back when she comes back next week. She found an assisted living facitlity about 12 miles from her house. I'll be meeting them downstate to help pick out and move in some furniture and help them unpack and get Grandma settled in. It'll be nice having Grandma closer to home, but the guilt for not getting down there to see them in years has been crippling, since Mom has been visiting about once every 3 months or so. :frusty:

So, I'm getting in all the skiing I can this week. I really, really, really needed to get out on the hill after all this.
I'll hit Nub's next week if all goes well, but otherwise, I'm not exactly planning on it.

Spent the day yesterday at Nubs - had a great time. It was one of those rare cloudless Michigan winter days - blue sky as far as you could see, temps in the 40s, just perfect!

Snow was hard - like flour on cement - until the sun had a chance to soften things up. But it didn't get too mushy, either. The whole resort was still open, although I don't know if the Pintail Peak area is open during the week.

Have fun, wherever you go.
