Broken boots?

I'm skiing on 4-buckle A/T boots this year. They have a one piece tongue, and I noticed today that the tongues on both boots are cracked! On this model of boot, the tongue is part of what makes the boot stiff. I'm really bummed - these were brand new boots this year! I know I'm hard on boots, and I ski a lot, but it seems they should have held up better.

What do you divas think - call the manufacturer and ask for new tongue pieces or just chalk it up to normal wear and tear? How long do you expect boots to last?

Definitely call the manufacturer--they may be aware of a defect in the tongues, and at any rate, should send you replacements. Less than a year is way too short a period of time for boots to deteriorate in that way. How frustrating for you! :(
