Brands? Ideas? help!

OK - so the "Preseason Deals" thread has me in a frenzy checking out all the new 08/09 ski apparel.

I ski in snowboard gear - jackets, pants...everything. That being said - any brands out there that I'm missing?

I checked Burton - but then you end up with the same jacket as every other diva out there.

Last season I skied in a Sessions coat and loved it, but wasn't loving this year's stuff - really baggy.

What are some other brands to check out?:noidea:

Bonfire - it's really Salomon.
Oakley
I love my Rossi "freeride" pants. They're snowboard, but I call them free-ride

I gotta call in at the store soon. I'll see if there are any more that might do!

686, Roxy, Orage, Volcom

I'm going to need new pants this season as well. But I'm waiting until the last minute since I'm still dropping weight.

Thanks!! I'm really liking the Orage stuff - but the website's still stuck on Summer 08 and all the winter stuff is last year's. Don't they know we are obsessed!!??

I really like one from last year though and if I can find it at a pre season sale, then I'm good!

I've become a fan of Cloudveil. Got some really good deals last season from several online stores.

I do like Orage and Solomon but Cloudveil fits me the best.

Agreed---don't worry about the name as much as the fit. There's so much "cross-over" stuff now anyway. Once you find something with the fit and amenities you like....STOCK UP. I hate it when sizing/fit goes awry, putting us back at Step One :mad2:

Big fan of Arc'teryx, Cloudveil & Marmot...I have a couple of friends that wear Orage and love it!

Ok I really like the Volcom Queens jacket in bright green!! It's awesome. But, of course, no online retailers have it in a large. Figures! Inventory will probably pick up as the summer winds down...lol - can't believe I'm shopping for winter coats!

If you want some really nice clothing (freeride style), but don't want to look like everybody else, check out SMS. (https://www.smsclothing.com/website08/).

You'll have to look at the "dealers" link to see where it's sold (the company is based in Whistler), or you can contact them directly.

They had some women's clothing available at Momentum's ski camp (the camp director also owns SMS) and it was REALLY nice. Several women bought pants and jackets in really fun colors.

Ummm - WOW!! Nice nice!! I sent an email to them direct to see if they can send it straight from there. That's nice stuff!! And, you're right...it's awesome because nobody else will be wearing it.

It's definitely worth it. The clothing has all the features you'd want and more. I saw a lot of this year's stuff firsthand and was impressed.

I have to jump in and also put my vote in for Orage. I got a new Orage jacket two seasons ago, and I love it.

Another Orage approval vote. I've had a pair of pants of theirs for at least 5 years. They still look great --- wearing like iron. Also the best fit I've ever had.
