Bootfitter in Orange County, CA?

Rachael

Anyone know a bootfitter in Orange County, CA or how to find one? I tried skiing for the 1st time this past weekend and my shins killed me because my boots were so tight around the calf and loose around my feet & ankles. My shins and ankles ended up bruised and swollen.

Stefan Kaelin Ski & Golf in Newport Beach on PCH across from Joe's Crab Shack. I don't remember the name of the guy that actually does most of the bootfitting, the older gentlemen is the "guru" and is the only one that does the footbed grinding, so sometimes he is stuck in the workshop. Nearly everyone there knows their stuff. Their prices are comprable to any of the chain stores, but their service is awsome.

They also have a better selection of rental boots than lets say Sports Chalet and they will measure you to get the correct size.

Ski Net Sports is in West LA & I think there is another place in Big Bear area. I haven't been to either of these.

OOhhh! I'm excited another OC Diva.

I'm there every Saturday and most Sundays. My son is on the ski team and he has to start at 7:45am. We mostly ski on the East side as that is where the team trains.

Check out Kaelin's even if it is just for proper fitting rentals. It sounded like your rentals were way too big.

I spent most of my time on the West side because that's where the instructors are. Thanks for the tip on the bootfitting! I'm definitely trying them out before I go back up this weekend!

Good Luck and have fun this weekend, watch out for runaway snowboards. I'll be over on West Sat the 9th, there is a NASTAR race that day, which my son will be in

I've never run the gates before, although I have been toying with the idea. I'll have to find out how they want the adults to register through NASTAR, either the team or as a club or can we register individually????

However, I won't be doing it next week. 2 weeks ago I took a spill and bruised a rib (I hope it is only bruised), I have still been having some pain and am putting off a trip to the Dr. just yet. The ibuprofen has been taking care of the pain, so I am hoping it will heal soon (the sprained thumb is getting better fast). The hubby and I have a trip to UTAH tomorrow and I know I have to take it easier than I had hoped to for this trip.

If it's just their regular public Nastar, you register as an individual. You can sign up right on line and just remember your registration number (1st 3 letters of your last name + a number). This number will be yours where ever and when ever you race Nastar for ever and ever. It really makes on-site registration much easier. You just give them your number, sign their waiver, give them $$, and you're good to go. If you want to add yourself to a team, you can do that on-line, too.

On-site, some places require pre-reg (usually at ski school desk) and some will allow you to register right at the top of the course. Your best bet is to call ahead and get all the particular details for your location.

Sorry 'bout your injury....hope you heal quickly!!
