Bootcap (external toe insulators)

I SWEAR by my old hotronics. I gather the company has been sold, but when they were a local VT company they helped me out directly with replacing one battery. They have been so useful. My husband uses heated socks and they have been a game changer for him.
Hotronics are updated to new element style and batteries... which look cool because you can finally use bluetooth to control heat level etc. I still have the old ones myself since my batteries are relatively new but have been contemplating going to heated socks. TBD for me as I just got new boots and my bootfitter prefers me to ski without anything installed in my boots for the first 8-10 days then tweak and add whatever. His preference is for heated socks, but we'll see lol. I am just dreading my feet freezing until I make a decision.

Same as above. They are an addition that help in particular with the toes. I find that hotronics aren’t enough to keep my toes warm. I find the heated socks too thick for my boots.

I bought the boots caps. I'm hoping for the best. My toes just get cold.

Battery warmers for all skiing applications have been iffy at best for me. Boot Gloves are reliable and proven old tech. They insulate and keep the snow off the boot and from packing into the buckles. I put a Hothands glove warmer packet above my toes underneath the neoprene. One really cold days, I might need to use a second one for the afternoon. Most days, just the Boot Glove is enough.

I use Hotronics + Boot Gloves. I tried adding the Hot Hands externally a couple times (between boot and Boot Glove), but I they died pretty immediately. Tempted to try Hotronics + boot caps, heck, maybe with Boot Gloves over them, lol.

The only advantage of the boot caps, over Boot Gloves, is the ability to adjust buckles easily. Since my toes are the only things that get cold -due to circulation issues - that's been a win for me.

Just installed my bootcaps. Looking forward to putting them to the test.

Has anybody found a source for buying these boot caps for less than $50? That price just seems insane to me.
I bought some with a 20% Black Friday discount at thewarmingstore.com CYBER20. I think it’s still going. Most hills do a passholder discount, mine is 15% so that could be an option too.

I just got them through this store online, with a 20% off coupon code.
CYBER20 is no longer in use. But I called customer service and got a human. She asked if I had gotten a code in the mail, and I think I did since I've bought from them in the past but I deleted it. She gave it to me and I used it.
Thanks!

Reviving this because I was skiing yesterday in 5°F and saw a friend with a Purple pair of these on his boots. He works at a local ski shop and was trying them out. I thought of this thread right away.
I thankfully survived the day with just my hot tonics heat socks.

I've been pretty happy with the Bootcaps so far. I don't used any heating element in my boots. When the temps dip into the teens, I used to put on Boot Gloves. I was skiing in the teens and single digits last week and my toes stayed pretty comfortable for most of the day.
