Boot review: Dalbello Krypton Lotus

Well I finally got my new boots last week and had a chance to ski with them today. I bought Dalbello Krypton Lotus, and they were GREAT !
I could really feel the boot helping me make more confident turns. My foot was no longer slopping around like it did in my old boots. Each time I initiated a turn I got lots of power and could really ski on my edges. They were very comfy on my foot when I was skiing, but walking around and riding the lift was not so fun. My toes are right up at the front of the boot, and circulation was not always good. If I had bought a size bigger then I would have sloppy boots once again. My bootfitter assured me that they would help me with any problem areas.
I would highly recommend that any DIVA's out there needing new boots give this one a good look.

I have the Krypton Lotus boots as well - they're great! And, if your bootfitter is good, the kinks will be worked out soon. I had the same numb-toes problem, so I keep going back in to adjust ('ve had mine adjusted 2-3 times, and I'm still tweaking the left foot). But the right foot is perfect, and now the lift ride up is as pleasant as the ride down. Definitely recommend...

Did you get the intuition liners?

I have a thread on here with a review explaining the tight toes in the beginning for me but then I got the intuition liners and had them reheated to give a touch more toe room.

Gotta love a Krypton!

I have been out a couple of times since the last post on my new boots.
They have a heat moldable liner, and after the first time out on them I took them back to the store and had them heated up again.
On the hill they still made my toes "sleepy" and my feet got cold.
I have time today to take them back again, hopefully the right bootfitter will be there to help me out!
I know this is going to take time to get the kinks worked out....they still feel awesome when I am flying down the hill...YYYEEEEEHHHAAAWW !!!!

When you have them fitted, ask for the neoprene toe caps when you have them heat fitted. Makes a HUGE difference!

I too have the heat moldable liner and a custom footbed. Both have been tweaked to fix the toe issue on the left foot. But it's better and better, and agreed - when it matter most, these boots rock.

I have the Dalbello ladies Krypton Storm. It's awesome - great flex when I need it. My foot, ankles, calf is very narrow. The buckle in the middle holds my foot in place - heel at the back and no lift! It's the best fitting boot I've had. Note: I also got custom footbeds and am working with a great boot fitter. Highly recommend a good boot fitter.

Took me about 8 ski days before my toe didn't hurt when I walked. But I never had an issue while I was skiing - except a couple of minor pressure points that my boot fitter fixed.

I had the boots heated up again yesterday ....SnowHot.... funny you should mention the toe caps, because that is exactly what the bootfitter did !!
It was a very uncomfortable 15 or 20 minutes that I walked around with these very tight boots on, but when I took them off and put them on again they felt great.
I also heated up the custom foot beds that I bought and wore the boots for a while at home. Can't wait for my next ski day!

Ahhh another ski day with the Kryptons. Feeling better each time. The first few runs the boots felt tight and my circulation was not good. Went into the lodge for a rest and to rub the feet, boots back on for more skiing and felt much better. I love the flex along with incredible support that these boots give. So much stability can only give you more confidence. This is my season for learning mogul skiing and I found lots of moguls on Monday!! The boots gave me the ability to make the quick turns that are necessary. I did wipe out a few times , now I need new skis that are suitable for moguls, my little Atomic carvers don't cut the mustard in the moguls!!

If you are still having trouble with your feet on the lift ride and when walking just pop your buckles before you get on the lift or walk. This helps a lot. My Husband is breaking in new boots now too and he always pops his buckles before he gets on the lift.

Yes I have been undoing the buckles....and this helps to some extent.
The weight of the ski pulling down on the boot really hurts a spot on the top of my left foot ( I have a bone spur - or something like that)
I am sure that a few more ski days are going to help.

The boots are feeling better every time out. After the first few runs I have to take a break and rub my feet so I can feel my right toe again....after that all is well. Just an awesome boot to ski in.

I am glad they are working out.
I'm terribly fickle with my skis but I'm married to my boots!

Dalbello

Hi all,

The last two pairs of boots I've had have been Dalbello's and I'm a devotee. I'm looking at getting a pair of the Krypton Lotus boots for a steal -- only problem is I can't try them on. Now I KNOW my size size for sure and these are the right size, but I have a wide forefoot. Does the Krypton Lotus have a wide forefoot or not? Can ya'll help me with that? The literature says 98 mm but I don't know what that means. Thanks!

I can't really call the Krypton boot a wide forefoot---98 is pretty average. Some of the Technicas have a 102 forefoot and that is a wide forefoot. The Dalbello Electra has a wider forefoot, but it is roomy everywhere.

I am wearing the Dalbello Krysma---have the exact same size boot as last year--but, also have a problem with my left big toe. I have probably 35 days in them and have had the toe box blown out--so frustrating. I usually only wear boots for one year since I ski about 100 days---but, I wish I still had my last year's boots!!!

I got the storm and the Kryzma this year, replaced my old storms.

Love them both for different reason. I guess I should post a review on them, eh?

The Krypton line has a narrow ish forefoot, and an average heel.

If you have a wider foot, you may want to try them on before you buy.
they Lotus, Storm and Kryzma have the same last so they should all have a similar fit(though completely different feel) if you can find any of those to try on.

can you describe how they feel different? I'm a Dalbello fan as well, so this would be good to know. Thanks!
