Boot problems - toe bang?

Hi! I hope someone can help me. I'm in VT as I type.
Wearing bought a I've had for 5 years. I always got a numb foot so Ellus Brigham sanded down the plastic but that supports the insole to create more room. After first day by the afternoon both of my big toes were so painful - it felt like the nails we're hitting the boot front and pushing into nail bed.

Today was second day and I was in agony by afternoon. So sore to touch.

Is it that there's now too much room in the boot?!

What can I do to stop it?

Help and advice much appreciated

Where are you in Vermont? Sounds like you need to see a good boot fitter.

If you're by Killington, stop by Northern Ski Works on the access road. If at Stowe, try Inner Bootworks.

My guys are at Mount Snow Boot Works and are excellent also. I have toe bang issues in my right foot and these guys got me through this season with very minimal pain. New boots for me in the fall.

Good luck!!!!

Hi, I've had these boots a while and never had a problem until now...
Does it sound like I now have too much room??

It does sound like they created too much room. I've gotten toe bang when my liners have packed out. Sometimes custom foot beds help hold your foot in place, but if there's too much room in the boot, your feet are going to move around and bang into the front. I have had some limited success putting toe warmers on top of my toes. It was just the right amount of material to keep my foot in place. That never seems to work for long for some reason, but you might try it until you can see the fitter again.

That's what I thought! Thanks. I actually replaced the sept mounding foot bed with my Superfeet insoles. I'll put the old ones back in tomorrow and hope that helps a bit!

Thank you!

If your feet were getting numb before, then the boots were probably already too big, you were just cranking them down to make them tighter. At least, that's what I do when my liners start packing out. You definitely need to see a GOOD bootfitter.
