Boot gloves

They really work!

I guess I'm not necessarily surprised -- maybe just surprised at how well they worked today.

We skied Copper, and it's very cold. Somewhere around 0 degrees, give or take a couple, plus a fair bit of wind.

I used them with the toe warmers on top of the boot under the glove. My daughter also used a pair, with the toe warmers as well as the heated inserts for her boot insole. Both of us had fairly warm feet all day ... as warm as my feet usually are above 30 degrees or so. (My feet get really cold, even when it's warm out.)

We did have to go in after every two or three runs, to make sure our hands and faces didn't freeze off, so that probably helped, but my feet usually get cold before everything else.

DH gave me a (homemade) certificate for the battery-operated heaters for last Christmas, but I thought I'd try this cheaper alternative first ... I believe I'm happy with it. Thanks for the suggestion, which I'm sure I read here somewhere.

Good to know. I probably could have used some today. I understand they work best for those who don't have to mess with buckles/other adjustments too much? (obviously, as they cover the boot) Had about the same temps today at Sugarloaf.....brrrrrrrr....we lasted 2 hours the first round, thawed for 40 minutes, 2 more hours, that's all folks. I don't have boot heaters and don't use hand or foot warmers. We just had to keep moving! Home for several hours and I'm still cold! Gordini down mittens rocked it, though. (a $15 TJ Maxx find)

They cover the bottom two buckles, but that's all. I don't ever mess with those buckles, only the top two, so it wasn't an issue for me.

I was thinking of getting these...any help with sizing? According to the sizing chart, a small is a women's shoe size from 3-6.5 and a men's shoe size from 3-7. I wear a 7.5 in women's which converts to a men's 6. So if I follow the sizing chart in women's sizes, I'd be a medium. If I follow the sizing chart and convert my size to men's sizes, I'd be a small.

I would get the mediums. My daughter is in a 23.5 junior boot, and the smalls are quite difficult to get onto her ski boots.

I bought some last week and looking forward to using them next week.

I went with the medium also...6.5 foot.

wul3 - medium. The size chart I have depends on the mondopoint, not size. I'm a 24.5 aka 7 1/2 so medium.

HAHA! I'm 9 street shoe and a 10 running shoe and a 24.5 ski boot. Think they are snug?

Well we'll try each others boots on sometimes. DH is a 26 MP and he has the medium's too. His street shoe is men's 8.

I found a pair of mediums at TJ Maxx, but almost everything else I've seen there is a large. Bought DD's smalls off of ebay.

They were $20 at TJ Maxx, and $30 retail. I think Cozy Winters sells them. Or check ebay ...

I actually bought a pair up in Jay Peak (Vt) in December. They worked wonderfully on the groomers but I had some problems with them in the glades. It seemed like when I hit powder the snow got caught in between the boot and the "glove" and it seemed to keep my feet a little on the cool side....anyone else have this problem off piste? It was like they kept my feet insulated on the cooler side. Had the same problem a couple of days ago when skiing in a foot of powder in NH....I was more in tune to the issue then...

Wow, they must be too loose? There is NO way I could get any snow under mine. But that certainly would cause them to cool down your foot.

I don't believe so; I've tried many different tensions with the same result. Maybe it was the size I bought?...I bought according to the chart that is listed on the boot glove so I have a medium. But, I fell on the lower end of range so maybe it's a tolerance/size issue. I still love them so I might buy a small, I'll let the weather dictate :-) Thanks for the feedback!
