Boot Fitting- New England

So, to kind of go along with the why you need a boot fitting thread-- does anyone have any suggestions for a good boot fitter/shop in the MA/NH area? I think I need to get new boots this season and I'm not sure if I should go back to the same place I went to last time. I'm not sure because I think they may have sold me boots that turned out to be too big-- that may have been partly my fault though for not understanding performance vs comfort fit. I think I have a better idea now; it's just hard to wrap my mind around buying a boot that feels extremely tight at first. Anyway, last time I picked a place off the Americas Best Boot Fitters website. Does anyone have any first hand/good experience with any particular shops in the Eastern Mass/ Southern to Central NH areas? Thanks for any suggestions!

I got mine at Basin Ski Shop at Killington access road. I did it twice, over a 10 year span. Both time happy customer. I met others who're happy with them too.

Another one is at near Stowe. I have to dig up the information though...

Green Mountain Orthotics is very good. So is Northern Ski Works, in both Ludlow and Killington. They have a great reputation, and Mr. Ski Diva and I both got our boots there. If you go to Ludlow, ask for Shon. He's the best.

Unless you regularly ski Stratton, Okemo or Killington, one or more of those shops won't be convinient.

But if you're free to go ski in any of those resorts, you're in better position to visit those shops and see if you like any of them.

Both times I got boots, I went back more than once for adjustments. So keep that in mind.

Oh yeah, you DID ask for someone in New Hampshire!

Profile Orthotics in Concord is supposed to be good. Don't have any experience, but they have a good rep.

Thanks for all the replys. Yes NH is more convenient for me, as I don't usually ski southen VT as frequently. But, I'd make a special trip if it was really worth it.
Thanks for the suggestions.

I also use Starting Gate near Stratton (by junction of 30 & 100)--it's worth the ride, about 2 hours from my house.

If you do go to Profile Orthotics in Concord, take a look prior at the "resident boot fitter" thread on Alpine Zone. There is an ongoing thread re boot fitting, and Jeff Bokum offers a 10% discount coupon via a link for printing purposes. While I also do not have any personal experience with this pedorthist, he certainly has addressed some detailed questions, and there's a lot of positive feedback on that site regarding his expertise. Dunno if it helps, but I saw this on epic and the last line in it made me think of this thread.

Finally got to ski on my new boots yesterday and today, and not only do I love the boots (Head s9's) but I'm very pleased with the fitting, alignment, casting and orthotics I had made for them.

The Ski Stop in Westwood, MA - Phil Burgess and Tim Hogan did the work. I had this all done in September and posted about the great service I got, but of course didn't know really until I got them on snow.

Very balanced, good fit - and the advice they gave me on my stance was a bonus that really paid dividends.

If you're looking for boots, it's a small shop and they don't have tons of brands, but they really know what they're doing. They are Master Fit certified, so you don't need to go to Vermont.

I have yet to have boots fit - got very lucky with an out-of-the-box fit on my current (first) boots. I will probably need to get new ones end of this season and they will be fit. So far my husband has been very happy with the work done by Stan and Dan Sports in North Conway NH and plans to go back there for new boots soon. I think I will end up there as well come spring.
