Wow, those were FUN

Just looked at pics. What fun!! Great action shots, also. Loved the costumes. Yeah, the carnivals can be a blast. Looks like it was nippy that day, though? BRR to the pond skimming...

I actually did a firehose race once with DH and DS! It wasn't as hard as I thought. We came in 3rd!! DS has also regularly made it across ponds, on snowboard.

Thanks for sharing - that was fun!

Not a prob! I definately am not missing it next year, even if I'm sick again, I'll just go and watch with a cup of hot cocoa!!

Those are so much fun. We have a race/pond skimming event here at Tremblant. It involves a lot more, and is only open to adults as alcohol is involved. Le Petite Caribou sponsors it. Short slalom course (palm trees for gates), skim the pond, remove board/skis, drink a shot, run with boots on throught the village with at least 2 more "drink stations". Last stop the bar. Time is taken from start to finish. So the longer it takes to get out of the pond, the longer your time. Always held the last Saturday the mountain is open.

It's really fun to watch. Don't have the nerve to do it. But after 40 people its the same thing over and over again, unless the costumes get better. Last year one guy wrapped himself in bubble pack. I think he thought he could float the pond.

hahahah! Now that would be a site to see!

I don't think I'd want to do the pond...buuurrrr.. too cold! Although the hill they come down before it is a black diamond, and I used to ski it all the time. I'm not quite sure I'd make it across though!

I wouldn't do pond skimming either but it would be funny as h***. I'd freeze and my ski boots would get soaked <--that's a no-no.
