Best Ski Cars?

Did you see this? In case you are waiting for your new Audi or VW EV to arrive from overseas, you just may have to wait a little longer than they told you. You cannot put out an EV battery fire. Have to wait until the ship sinks to have enough water.

I think it’s probably the opposite of a good ski car, but has anyone ever fit skis into a Mini Cooper? Maybe in the front passenger seat? I’m talking the OG 2 door version.

I’m super interested in the electric Mini, think it would be great for scooting around locally. I go to the ski hill more often than anywhere else in the winter so it would have to be usable for that purpose!

My ski buddy has a mini. She has yet to drive it to Tahoe!

I fit skis into an ever smaller car, my FIAT 500, and I have done some rather long ski road trips (10 hours to SLC). My recommendation would be to bring skis when you go for a test drive to see if it could work for you.

Personally, my enjoyment of zipping around town in a small nimble car outweighs my desire for 200 cubits of trunk space for the occasional road trip. But then again, my ski trips are almost always eiither solo or with one other person in the car. More than that we take someone else’s car.

Subaru legacy with snow tires

Not flashy, easy to maintain, and loves to go through snow. Also, I have been at complete stops on icey hills and was able to start driving when traffic started again without issue.

I would say dedicated snow tires are extremely important as well.

I think the ski pass thru is the best feature of my Tiguan. Nice to have the skis through the center without having to put down the seats.

I think it's standard in VW's. My VW beetle convertible had that feature too. BMW has it so maybe it's a german car thing. Think Audi has it too.
