Best price for ski gear?

So with all the gear purchases going on, where do you go for the best price? Do you buy on line or from a local shop? And if you have equipment shipped, does it arrive in good shape and in a timely manner?

Share your secrets here so we can all save a buck.

My hubby is an e-bay junkie and it's where I shop when I already know what I want and how much I can expect to pay.

I also bought my new gear on E-bay. MUCH cheaper--but fitting them will cost me later. But for what I saved on the boots AND skis I can spend extra on fitting later. I did try on the same boots at a ski shop first--than found the same ones on E-bay. Same boots that were $329 at the store ended up in my house for $80--BRAND NEW still in plastic (but year prior model). Can't beat that one!!!! Also bought skis still shrink wrapped but year prior model for half the price as what they had them in store. Love that E-bay.

Ebay is a great place to get great deals if you know what you want.
Boots are the ONE thing I am not sure I'd want to buy on Ebay, only because I think the fit and feel is important and I'd feel funny taking up time with a shop then buying somewhere else, if they had the product I wanted.

Sometimes the best deal isn't the BEST DEAL if you trade price for service.
