Attiva AC2 v Head Wild Thang

Has Anyone tried either of these women's skis and what did you think of them. I was going to try both of them this weekend for demo at Tamarack resort. But maybe i was thinking just one pair-Ac2's, I cant make up my mind. We have had some of the best snow ever this week and I wanted to get in both, but I was thinking that maybe demoing two pairs would be too much.

I demoed both of these in January at Stowe. The conditions were great, they had had 8-10" of snow overnight. I really liked the AC2s, ended up buying them that night :D

Didn't like the Wild Thangs, handed them back after 2 runs. They felt heavy and unresponsive to me, maybe a little too stiff and not enough sidecut for me. But this is just my opinion and I have heard other people say good things about Head skis.

I also demoed the Dynastar Exclusive Legend which was a nice ski but I decided was a little to wide for the normal East Coast ice.

Demo both pairs if you can. When you demo a lot of skis you will have a better understanding of what you like and don't like in a ski. I always say DEMO, DEMO, DEMO. Have fun!!

I was able to demo the attiva ac2's this weekend in great snow conditions. When I picked up the ski's I was amazed at how light they were. I thought I would enjoy them a lot, but as it turned out I thought they were too light and little wobbly. But I they did not seem to have speed limit on them ( I dont ski extreme fast, but medium fast). The skis did not require any work at all and were very easy to turn both short and long. They powered through soft and hard snow, I was mostly impressed with the overall ski, it was just not stiff enough for me.

I just bought the Wild Thangs and I LOVE them. I can take them everywhere. They hold like crazy on hard snow (at high edge angles, they will slip at lower angles), float through powder, plow through crud, and are easy to negotiate through moguls. I am skiing them a little short but have had no problem with the stability. The short turning radius is great for ripping high speed carved arcs. Very fun! However, they do give you instant feedback if your form is off at all and will chatter like crazy if you get in the backseat. I do not find them overly stiff, if anything, I find them a little soft - compared to my Atomic SX10s and Nordica SUVs. This is my first women's specific ski and I'm totally sold. However, the best advice for anyone buying skis has already been given: DEMO, DEMO, DEMO.
