Atomic vs Volkl vs K2-Help!

Dahlgrenski

Diva in Training
My K2 burnin luvs just got stolen over the holidays! Luved them alot! But now, I'm looking again for a new pair of all mountain/expert skis. Not really brand loyal. Just demoed the Sugar Mama's on a power day and they skied really well. But are these good carve skis for hardpack? Will they chatter or skid out on hard, steep snow?

Also skied Volkl Tierra -- are these the replacement for the Attiva S5's? Want something that can ski bumps/crud/powder/hardpack/groom. Ski mostly Tahoe area. Love to ski steep bumps, make fast quick turns on mogels but am getting up in age, so may need to do some more cruising.
Have skied for over 28 years.

I haven't skied the Sugar Mamas or the Tierra, so I'll leave the recommendations to another diva. Just wanted say that sucks about your Burnin Luvs! Another diva got her BLs stolen very recently :( There was some talk about homeowners insurance covering replacement skis, check it out if you haven't looked into it.

Good luck on your new ski quest. Hopefully you'll fall in love again, even if not necessarily Luv!

SkiMave has the Sugar Mama's and she likes them. We skied Tremblant New Years Day and they seem to be holding the hardpack pretty good. I'm going to try them next weekend I think. FYI - they are the women's version of the Nomad line of Atomic. They are high performance all mountain.

I'm sure you'll get a ton of input here, welcome to the board - just SO sorry that your first post had to be in re a THEFT :mad2: We've had other threads on the topic, so you're not alone. Still....misery and company notwithstanding, darn it all. Hope you're able to replace asap and get lots of input from the divas.
