When do you do the majority of your skiing?

I'm out on the weekdays -- never ski weekends. I have a mid-week season pass, which was really very reasonable. And I love the uncrowded slopes. So I'm really spoiled.

What about you?

We ski Saturday and Sunday mornings. We also try to ski every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights depending on the weather. This week it has been too cold and windy to ski at night. It was so nasty Monday night that my area closed at 4:30. We don't ski Thursday or Friday nights because there are 1500 kids at our local area!! We have season passes and only live 8 miles from our ski area.

Weekends only, unfortunately. Living in NYC and having a typical 9-5 job doesn't leave much other choice. It's not bad, though... gives us something to do on the weekends, and we've managed a trip out west each of the past 3 or 4 years to get us up to 25-30 days/season.

I ski pretty much every weekend, one or two nights most weeks, with the occaisional week with no nights, or with three.

Weekdays are a true rarity for me. I've only gotten a handful of midweek ski days, but enough for me to know that all of you weekday skiers are spoiled! :D Really though, weekday skiing has (almost) the emptiness of nightskiing, with better snow and less bitterness in the wind.

I'd thought that night skiing would be worse than it is though. It's cheaper, you never have to worry about glare from the sun, and I usually end up with runs to myself. And I can't knock it, cuz it lets me get out on the hill for a while after work, and probably accounts for half of my ski days.

I ski Thursday mornings with a terrific women's ski group - a large group broken up into smaller (2-3 people) groups with a female instructor for 3 hours of quality time and attention. (Bless all you instructors out there....) On Sunday I get my girls up to "Chipmunk Corner" so that they get a lesson and Mama gets more ski time. I try to get up another day during the week, but often duty off the slopes wins out. Believe me, I feel lucky for what I do get!

I prefer to ski weekdays. Usually take a couple vacations days a year to do so. Mostly ski weekends though.

We ski every weekend, race on Wednesday and Thursday nights, ski every other Friday night, and I usually take at least a few days off the ski during the day.

Weekdays are the best and my preference, as I am a semi-retired ski bum of sorts like Ski Diva. DH and I do have good friends w/o weekday options, so we generally wind up doing a mix of days. Weekends at SOME places are okay - at others---:mad2: Since he is able to work weekends and sub in for others on rotation, that provides 2 compensatory weekdays, so we get in enough weekdays to really pile on miles. It's possible to get in more vertical on a weekday morning than almost any full weekend day. Just easier on the nerves and an easier drive (not far for us, but oh so many city folks without good winter driving skills and many accidents en route to/from).

One oif the biggest reasons I work weekends only. So, I have plenty of play time during the week! That means all my skiing, hiking & camping is done when the crowds are less.

I totally prefer weekdays and have been able to be really flexible with my past 3 winters and work...I'm practicing for my retirement! Only issue I found was finding others to ski with midweek...guess that's what happens when you and your friends aren't really retirement age! Did lots of weekdays by myself and usually met someone on the chair to ski with and then skied with friends on the weekends. Not sure I'll be so lucky next winter.

Starting next week, I'll be a working stiff again and it will certainly cramp my style! Hopefully I can convince them that they only need me 4 days/wk so I can at least do 3-day weekends!

Don't do nights. Too cold and too far away from slope to make it there for night skiing anyway.

Mostly weekends like majority of workabees. But occasionally take a day off here and there, especially if a dump is forecasted. And whenever the opportunity present itself, I "voluntee" for evening/night shift so I get a weekday free.

We're regular working stiffs with regular working schedules, which means we're stuck with the weekends for the most part. The only time we get the hill to ourselves is when we go to Searchmont and ski on Fridays.

But we did notice that Saturdays seemed very empty this year, for the most part, which is a little worrisome. If there aren't skiers, they can't stay open - and they've already been rescued from bankruptcy.

DITTO! I love having the mountain to myself! haha, talk about spoiled! I am a bit of a mix though when it comes down to it. I like to ski during the week, but sometimes am forced to go on weekends because of school and work bla bla bla!

I ski on weekdays and any night, both weekend nights and weekday nights. I rarely ski on weekend days. Mostly because I work weekends, but also because my pass is a 5X7 (5 weekdays 7 nights)

I really enjoy night skiing, it's a different experience and a different atmosphere. The slopes are deserted and the views are spectacular.

I pretty much ski whenever the crowds are gone. For me, that's mid week in Southern VT, at my local mountain on weekends and holidays, and on bigger mountains on vacation, so far Big Sky which is very unpopulated. I tried night skiing for the first time last season. I liked it though it was hard to see when the sun first started to go down and there were too many teens on the slopes that evening so the energy was a little frenetic....

Mainly weekends...

I answered Weekends only. Both me and DH have traditional M-F daytime jobs and closest slopes are ~4 hour drive. So, weekends is the most realistic time for us to go. Although, we do one mid-week trip every year for our anniversary, which we both refer to as our ski-aversary.

I mostly ski weekdays. Our night skiing is limited, only some nights and only part of the mountain (the boring part). Occasionally have used like an hour of skiing at night either to watch the sun set or to make some vertical goal. I discovered last year that day tickets did not allow night skiing, so that also caused an issue for someone I was skiing with.

Normally I go to the slopes alone and since I'm a "regular" I now know people to ski with. Each year I meet one or two new people. Last year I was "down" with possible friends to ski with as at least seven of my female friends had knee issues going on!!! That left me with their husbands for the most part. My daughter says I ski with "the geezers".
