What brand is the ombre like yarn? Rowan?

I'm the throes of moving. Now I did a big down size, clear out 6 years ago. In a closet I found my Harrod's Market bag. Inside is a partially done sweater.....for who, for what, I don't know. But I think it might be a good project to get into once I'm moved.

I finally finished my 2nd great niece's sampler - only took 1.5 yrs though I did stop for 2 months to do a wedding sampler. This is before ironing. It looks a lot better now. Have to get it framed.

@santacruz skier - Yes - the ombre yarn I used int he blanket is Caron - they have a line of "Caron Cakes" - ombre/self-striping yarns in various wgts and gorgeous colors.20240902_084750.jpg

How cute!

I'm making progress on my thick woolly sweater. It'll be perfect when I go to Iceland, or Scotland, or the Arctic Circle. Any of which sound peachy, since we're having an Extreme Heat weather alert at the moment with unrelenting temps in the 100's.

20240912_103542.jpg20240912_103542.jpg20240101_155025.jpg Here's the sweater I am working on for my son. This is the second attempt I got it to starting down the first sleeve and then realized the gauge was off. Frogged the whole thing back to the very beginning and started over. I'm glad I did as I understand the pattern better. And the gauge is right!! It was 4" too small the chest before. The yarn is a Cascade Superwash.

Nice vest, looks great.

I'm working on a sweater called Felix Cardigan. I have 1/2 the body, 1 sleeve, and the button & neck bands to go. Hopefully it'll look like this once it's finished & blocked.

I'm on a roll. Finished my Irish yarn sweater, 95% finished with a V-neck vest, finished a beanie to match the sweater. Next is another vest. If you're on Ravelry, it'll be the Perec pattern. I made it once before, it was a great middle layer. Then I stupidly forgot it at a ski condo and lost it.

Vests are great garments to have. I found another vest, this time with a tutorial. It'd be a great starter project for a beginner. Here's the link to the video below, the description has a link to the pattern. And bonus, the designer is a skier!

Any recommendations to knit myself a replacement for my Smartwool merino neck warmer?

My son borrowed mine for a daylong lesson last season, and it came back looking like a puppy chewed it up. I am a pretty advanced sock knitter with some very pretty superwash merino in my craft closet. So I thought I might give handmade a try before purchasing new.

Challenge is that my other hand knit cowls & scarves are much breezier than the Smartwool. They work for a warmer day but not a super cold one. So maybe something double-layered?

I was just going to page @VickiK . I've made a few cowls from some really nice merino wool but it's been too long to remember. My wrists ache when I knit so I stopped years ago. I love Rowan yarns BTW
