Anyone Try Head Wild Thang/Wild One

Still looking at adding another ski to my quiver. Have the Volkl 4 stars and the Volkl Queens. Looking into the Head Wild Thang (2007) or the Head Wild One (this year's equilvalent). Want a ski that will do the bumps but also crud and not too deep powder. Have my Queens for the epic powder days - they didn't disappoint. My husband has the men's Monsters. He loves them. - quick in the bumps, nice pop and stable in the crud. The women's Head skis I'm looking into have the same technology. Their description sounds like what I'm looking for, but also got a recommendation for the K2 Missdemeanors.

I think Betsy really likes hers and was skiing them on a cruddy day at Beaver Creak last spring. I'm pretty sure SnowHot tried and liked them.

Hi, I skied the Wild thang at Stow last December in some beautiful powder conditions.
I really liked the ski for everything imaginable, except, when the boyz cut it loose and took off, I really had to use every ounce of skilz to catch them.
This is not a speed ski, but it skis fast enough to do most anything most want to do, until da boyz leave ya in da dust!!!

the head wild thang/wild one was a shop favorite this season. It has the liquid metal technology (which is actually not liquid metal) it is metal fibers in the ski which when vibrate stiffen which equals a stiff ski on hard pack and a soft ski on powder..or so the reps claim...either way I think its a good investment

not sure if it's too late but I just looked at the boards for the first time since the end of the season --- I got a pair of wild thangs last year and absolutely loved them -- skied them at Sugarbush and Mad River and found that they really skied well and had tons of fun. The only difference as far as I know between the wild thangs and wild ones are the metal tip and tail on the wild ones. I had a problem with a sidewall defect but head was really great and did the whole warranty really quickly and without question. I would have gotten the monsters, but they didn't come small enough for me especially because I probably would have skied them shorter since they are stiffer -- you might also want to check out the new "great ones" for this year. They are 77 underfoot and based on the monster although I remember people saying last year that the wild thang/one was based on the monster.

Mr. Lola (Philpug on Epic) has a pair of 161 Wild Ones at his shop that he would make a deal for a Diva on. PM Lola or him on Epic, if you are a member there, for a price.
