I also have the Technica Attiva Flame....I absolutely LOVE them. I previously had the Nordica Beast and they killed my particular foot....I have a high arch, high instep, there was always pressure on the top of my foot and I had great difficulty getting into and out of them--it actually hurt and I often needed help pulling them on and off...it was that hard! So I finally went in a few months ago and met with a very good bootfitter to figure out which brand/model suited my particular feet....and came out with the Technicas. (I continued using my custom foodbeds from before). He warned me about a break-in period, but I was comfortable in them from Day 1, and due to the comfort factor, my skiing most definitely improved with them. My feet don't hurt at the end of the day, either. I didn't find them particularly soft....My Nordicas were a fairly stiff boot, and the Technicas were perhaps slightly softer than those, but still stiff enough for me (I don't like soft boots). So I'm real happy with them....I've seen them on sale recently at 40% off, so good buys are out there on all boots right now. Wish I could have waited, but it was worth the extra full price $$ to ski with better boots for a couple of months now!
In any case, boot fit is quite personal as everyone's feet are different, and even your left vs. right foot will be different. As I learned, it's vital to go to a good bootfitter. They help you figure it out and they help you tweak the fit.
