anyone on/skied stocklis?

Heh, lil mtn girl, I've seen them in Ski Canada, but don't know where you get them. Are they big out west??

The ski shop at the base in Okemo carries them, and I've been meaning to give them a try. I understand they're terrific on eastern hard pack (read "ice"), hold a terrific edge, and are easy to flex. The company only ships 4,000 pair to the US each year (they're Swiss), so they're not easy to find.

Which Stockli are you interested in? The Spirit?

Jilly:

they're pretty new to me too, actually . . .

i haven't seen many (or any) stocklis around except this past weekend when a local ski shop brought them out for demo days.
i think they've just started carrying them . . .

i hadn't even heard of them before!

i was just curious if anyone had heard of them, tried them, or knew more about the skis.

they appear to be VERY well made, though!

Ski Diva:

actually, i got to demo the Stormrider DP Pro . . . with an intimidating length of 184 :fear:
but they surprised me!

they were really fun! but not forgiving . . . that ski definatly requires good focus!

so i guess i'm interested in the Stormrider series or something with similar charicteristics anyway!

They're lovely skis. Did you look at the bases? I've heard they put each ski through 22 passes on the stone, and they look it.

I'll let you know when I give them a try. Just waiting for a day with the right conditions. Can you believe I'm having a hard time finding ice here in the east right now????? Incredible!

yup, they're lovely alright!

but the price tag?

are they as expensive in the US?
(i think they're at least $1000 in Canada -- i'm guessing here)

yikes!

i hope you get to try them!

and as for the incoming snow to the east . . . :ski2: enjoy!!!
