So yard sale season is upon us, and every now and then you hear about someone snagging terrific ski gear at a dirt cheap price. Anyone here ever have the experience?

(BTW, to talk about non-ski related yard sale finds, go here.)

Never, besides the fact that I don't do garage sales much, usually when I do, I find cheap old straight skis with rear entry boots for $25.00. AAAAACK!!!

I actually once found a very nice, virtually unused cross-country set-up at a yard sale. Sometimes on the hunt for super-antique skis -- there are a lot of hickory 220's with bear-trap bindings in barns and attics around here.

You could try ebay for those old hickory skis. I bought a pair myself, as well as some really cool antique snow shoes I have on the wall.

And look at these cute old kid's skis I got on ebay, too!

Well, almost..

This girl with some very nice fatties had a yard sale downhill from me and her stuff was just all over the mountain for the taking.. skis, poles, goggles... talk about cheap! All she was missing was an "Everything Must Go" sign. But, I resisted temptation :nono: and just brought her skis down to her as she dug herself out.. :snow:
