Anyone collect ski memorabilia?

Like pins, patches, and so on?

I like to collect trail maps from every place I go (this is more for reference than collection purposes). And I like to buy a coffee mug from every place I ski.

I also have a couple pairs of old wooden skis on the wall in my house. And a set of old red child's skis & poles, propped up on the hearth beside the fireplace.

Anyone else?

Pins - from everywhere I've skied. Problem is they are sitting in a box. Hubby has many as well and wears them on a cowboy hat. Lately old skis have become a bench in the back yard, only 1/2 completed as we ran out of skis.

Trail maps, absolutely we have heaps of them.

Antique ski posters (reproductions anyway..).

We keep all our piste maps and have just got a lovely book to paste them into, along with some of the nicer looking passes (or any with amusing ID photos) and odds and ends like a cocktail stirrer shaped like a ski (from Whistler)

There are some nice photos and so on here:

I loved this Spanish Ski Diva:

I have a bookmark somewhere of a lovely old ski magazine which someone had scanned in and made a site of - I'll try and find it.

You should use her as your avatar...she's great!

Ah, don't worry about the water mark. The image will be so small (100 pixels by 100 pixels) that you won't even notice it.

Give it a try and see!

When I was a kid I used to collect ski patches. I sewed them up and down the sleeve of my jacket. Now I have a few that I've put together in a frame and hung on the wall. Looks pretty cool!

I also have a couple retro ski posters.

By the way, a couple of the best-known Chamonix posters that you get feature some cracking early Ski Divas:

and this one is lovely, from just down the road in Combloux

but my favourite is still this one - it's a bit overdone here, they even have it on the ski passes now, but it *is* a lovely piece of design.

Some of those are available in Canada at Mont Chalet. And they ship to the US girls.

I have these two posters, and I love them. There are others available, too, from SkiVermont.com. They come out with a different one every year.

Those are just lovely. So nice that they do them every year! The 2001 poster is gorgeous - lovely style of illustration!

I know -- I love the style, too. And each one says, "Winter in its original state," which I think is a great line. They're only $10. (US) each. I had them matted and framed, and they look terrific.

I have a collection of pins from everywhere I've skiied. I also have several old pairs of skis, leather boots and old postcards. I really like my old skiing books the best. They are really neat to look through and see all the old ski fashions, equipment, and techniques. Does anyone have any creative ideas for displaying old pins, postcards, etc.?

I never collected pins but my grandson did. since he is going off to college and we live in VT he gave them to me. I mounted them on some velvet and framed them. they are very attractive.

Also, when we moved from Pennsylvania to Vermont 2 years ago, we moved 24 pairs of old skis. Don't ask why, remember Phil is my son-in-law. Well, we finished some loft space last year so that we could house more ski buddies overnight. My clever hubby made headboards from the old skis. the funny thing was last year while we were skiing we saw somebody on a pair of our "headboards".
