Any Nike+ runners on the Ski Diva board?

If there are others I thought it might be fun to set up a ski diva challenge on the Nike+ boards to help us keep in ski shape! Anyone????

I've got a Nike+ but haven't been running much lately. I need to get back to it, so a challenge might be just the thing. As long as it's not of the "run 5 miles every day" variety.

I just set up a challenge that will start in a few weeks called "Swimsuit Ready by Spring Break". There are no minimum number of miles, just run as much as you can by the end of March. We are headed to Hawaii, so I need the challenge accountability as well! I only run about 10 miles per week on average--so I am definately not a hard core runner. I just like to stay in shape! If you join, let me know your screen name. I am "coffeeme". :D

Okay, I'm in. I'm targeting a 5K on March 31st, so this will be perfect. I just hope my iliotibial band cooperates with this plan.
My username over there is TheKarenD (surprising, I know:wink: )

Woo hoo! It will be fun to run with another diva. I didn't start the challenge till we return home from our Banff trip. I am planning to run every day while we are away, but just in case I am too busy skiing to run--I decided to start it after the trip.:ski2:

What is an iliotibial band? (Sorry, not very knowledgable with the medical terminology.) Is that around your knee?

Run on vacation? Wow, that's dedication.

I had no idea what the iliotibial band was until mine started giving me trouble last year. It's tissue that runs along the outside of the leg and when irritated can cause hip, thigh, or knee pain when running. I've been doing my squats and stretches and other exercises the physical therapist gave me, so am hoping now that I've rested it some I can avoid the problem when I ramp up my running this time.

Wow, I have knee and hip pain at times when I haven't been working out regularly. I have never had it checked? I wonder if it could be the same type of thing?:injured: Hopefully you will be able to train strong for your 5K and it won't bother you.

Actually the trip to Banff is a work meeting for my husband. I am just tagging along, so on days I don't ski I was planning to run to keep busy while dh is in meetings. I am not that much of a running addict.

Good for you! I finally got my first run logged today. It has been dumping snow so I have been on the slopes and too tired to run when I get home.

I won't complain though!
