Common song bird (I think) last night down by the wetlands close to my house in Wyoming.

Nothing to share yet but I recently bought a Birdfy Feeder so if I ever get it set up I'll share photos. Now that I'm creeping on 50 my new hobbies are apparently planting native plants and trying to attract bugs/birds.

Robin bringing sarvis berries to the soon to fledge baby that hatched from the only egg that was laid in this nest on my roof.

Robins were my gateway bird. First they were walking me up at 4:30 am, then I noticed their am song was different than their pm song, and I realized birds were a lot more interesting than I'd thought.

What a cute little bird.
Liking birds is new for me. I didn't use to. But they are beautiful, interesting, and funny. I can see birding's appeal, and how it could be a gateway to some fun travels.

Not the best picture but this Pileated Woodpecker hung out on the tree for 15-20 minutes today. Seemed to get a lot of bugs out of the hole right behind it.

Liking birds is new for me. I didn't use to. But they are beautiful, interesting, and funny. I can see birding's appeal, and how it could be a gateway to some fun travels.

I am trying to learn about wildlife photography and the birds are readily available to practice on, so I end up with a lot of bird pics.

Okay, so I'm not really a "birder" but do spend a lot of time outside and on the water.
They are fun to watch and get a picture of if the opportunity presents itself though. : )

Not sure what this nest was to be right honest. It was on the ground and I recall taking a quick picture and moving on to leave them alone. They were quite tiny like Robin nest size.

I think loon chicks are like most waterfowl and hatch eyes open and ready to leave the nest. I've got a photo somewhere on film or a digital card with the babies riding on the mother's back though. Loons can't walk on land so the little ones climb on the parents to rest. : )

This was at the beach yesterday. At low tide, all these little tide pools form on the flats, trapping little fish, and flocks of Terns come in to feed on them.
These lively little birds dive head first into the water to get the fish. Quite the show!

This is such a cool thread. So many amazing images of birds and other wildlife.

The most exciting bird watching we've done the past two summers is the Cooper's hawk family that moved into our yard. Mom and dad come back (this will be the third year) and build a nest in the spring and then hatch some babies. (second year for having babies)

We are at the stage in the babie's growth that we can't tell the difference between the babies and the adults. It was fun to watch them get their feathers and start to fledge.

We had two pelicans fly over us while playing a round of golf. They were massive and so majestic, then they landed on a water feature on the course.

I interrupted the little yellow bird hunt. Legit stink eye dose!

This juvenile bald eagle, along with its sibling, was standing on the hay shed roof, waiting to sunbathe as the sun rose this morning. By the time I returned to my truck it had spread out, belly up, to soak up the heat. This behavior is mostly seen in sub-adults.

So not really a photo, but I've a friend who does a lot of great bird photography and is also a fabulous artist. Got this as a belated birthday gift from her. : )
I keep telling her she really needs to sell these, but she has no interest.
