Anniversaries to remember (or not)

Mr Tradygirl and I just had our fourth anniversary yesterday and due to our ridiculous schedule right now, it was pretty anti-climactic. I had to work and go to class until 10:00PM, and he had to work a 12 hour day. Fun stuff. But, he's a sweetheart and had a beautiful orchid delivered to my office.

So the question I pose to all you married Divas out there - what are your best and, if you have any, worst anniversary memories?

Best - our first. We booked a room in the same hotel we stayed at for our wedding night. Martinis, dinner, and the opera. (Although we both fell asleep during the first act and went back to the martini bar instead of staying for the second!)

Not quite as good - this one due to lack of time. It was sweet though, since we both did small things for each other. Hopefully we'll make up for it this weekend.

My best anniversary was our 25th. We booked a room at a great restaurant and had a party with friends and family -- all the people who meant the most to us. We had great food, great music, dancing; I actually enjoyed it more than my wedding because I was more relaxed, more in the moment, than I was at my wedding.

I have to laugh, this year ( #24) neither of us even remembered until my mom said something the night before.

That being said, for our 20th we took two weeks in Mexico, a week touring the Yucatan, and then a week diving in Cozumel. This was really important. We had been in marital hell for a few years, and were just at the rebuilding point, where we knew we were going to be OK. So that was a very special trip.

Don't really have any bad anniversaries.

I will be celebrating my first in about 2 weeks - wow! one year goes fast.

My wedding day (my zero year anneversary - heh) was a ton of fun. Now if I could recreate the reception, that would be a blast.

Our 23rd is Sunday - I just remembered it a couple of days ago and I'm not even sure at this point if he has or not!

No bad memories, though.

Our first was nice. We went to Mackinac Island with some friends and did the "frozen cake" thing and everything. :nono: (word to the wise - throw away any remaining cake from wedding day). :spit:

Our 10th was nice. We drove with another couple to Bar Harbor, ME and to the Cape and Martha's Vineyard. We were gone for a couple of weeks and had a GREAT time (well, as great a time as you can have when you're 8 months pregnant with your 3rd ).

Our 15th is the end of June and I have something else that popped up for that day! We're not much into really celebrating things like birthdays and anniversaries. :noidea:

My first wasn't great -- my husband was stationed in Korea at the time, unaccompanied, so we were apart. My 25th was great. The child was shipped off to the in-laws and we ate at a great restaurant that we hadn't been to before. My husband presented me with a ring he had designed, with a beautiful tourmaline in it. He worked with a friend of mine who did the metal work. This summer will be number 27 -- I can't be that old!
