From Ski Area Management:

Peak Resorts has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Snow Time, Inc., which owns and operates Roundtop, Liberty, and Whitetail in Pennsylvania, for $76 million in total consideration. The transactionWhitetail Resort Peak Resorts is expected to be completed prior to the start of the 2018-19 ski season, subject to closing conditions. Upon closing, Peak Resorts’ portfolio will include 17 ski areas in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast.

For those unfamiliar with Peak Resorts, it's a public company that's a family business. Started in MO at a small hill near St. Louis called Hidden Valley. The founder and CEO is a golfer, not a skier. Mt. Snow, Hunter, and Wildcat are probably the best known outside the Mid-Atlantic or midwest.

The Peaks Pass only covers the northeast and mid-Atlantic locations.

NORTHEAST

Crotched Mountain, NH
Mount Snow, VT
Hunter Mountain, NY

MID-ATLANTIC

It's done. Peak Resorts put out a press release announcing the completion of the purchase of Snowtime. So Whitetail, Liberty, and Roundtop are officially part of Peak Resorts. It was noted that there was ". . . strong acceptance for the Peak Pass as demonstrated by the 27% of Snow Time pass holders who elected to trade-up to our unlimited pass offering through October 31." Could be a bit more crowded at Hunter and Mount Snow this season, especially with such a good start in terms of snowstorms and cold weather.

The next phase for the former Snowtime locations is happening. A SAM article details the management restructuring as it impacts the three PA ski areas/resorts. Jason and Josh Boyd are the sons of Peak Resorts founder, Tim Boyd.

PEAK RESORTS UNDERGOES RESORT LEADERSHIP RESTRUCTURING

"SAM Magazine—Wildwood, Mo., December 21, 2018—Peak Resorts has created several new key roles and appointed new personnel at the corporate and managerial levels to better facilitate operations at its growing portfolio of resorts in the eastern United States.

Jason Boyd has been appointed senior vice president of operations, mid-Atlantic, overseeing Peak’s five Pennsylvania properties. Josh Boyd has taken on the same title in the Midwest, overseeing the company’s seven ski areas in Ohio, Missouri, and Indiana.

Peak also tapped Scott Romberger to be the VP of finance for the Mid-Atlantic region, another new position. Romberger is the former president and CFO of Snow Time, Inc. He now reports directly to Peak Resorts CFO Chris Bub.

Eric Flynn has been appointed to the newly created role of vice president and general manager of Liberty Mountain, Whitetail, and Roundtop in Pennsylvania. Flynn was previously the GM of Liberty Mountain.
