Who's adventurous out there?

Who wants to try taking a sizable jump in the terrain park? Who wants to hop off a cliff under the chair into deep powder? Who wants to do the bumps on the steepest double black on the mountain, non-stop? I mean do these things, or other ones like them that you can't do now, ONE DAY, and NOT ALONE, but with a friend who also wants to try it, working up to it over the weeks and months?

Well, I do, but I don't have anyone to do it with.

So if this is you, how do you go about it? Do you try things alone, wondering how long it will take the ski patrol to find you if you take that fall?

Liquidfeet, I gotta come ski with you. I'm not a park rat or cliff jumper, but there are places I want to ski and hopefully do it well. My philosphy the past few winters has been: "I'll do it once. It might not be pretty and I might not do it again. But I'll do it once." I was thinking this morning on the way to work, what runs haven't I done yet this year at Tremblant. Well most of those aren't open, but a few are and I should get to them soon!!

I would LOVE to be able to do these things. I try a little bit at a time. My boyfriend is good at pushing me to try things that I may not try alone. But that can get frustrating because he is a more aggressive skiier than I am.

I am definitely not where I want to be with my skiing. I am so jealous of skiiers who can just dive into a steep gladed or bump run.

I am moving to Salt Lake City over the summer so I will have plenty of opportunities to practice and learn.

So how far is Tremblant from the mountains of New Hampshire?

1 1/2 hours north of Montreal. Problem for you is getting here in a straight line. I'm not sure where you can cross the border from NH to Quebec. I know of a few crossings from Vermont. (Gee all are from Jay) From Montreal, its a 4 lane highway till about 10 mi from the mountain. Still looking into Jay for Diva Day March 17th!!

I'll be there at Jay. Skiing trees will be an adventure for me because I've never done it. Honestly, I've never been on really deep fresh snow either. It's nice when life's an adventure. See you then.

LF, the way you started skiing only 3-4 years ago and went straight into racing and got a PLATINUM last week -- you are an adventurous woman! You rock!

FLATTERY -- I love it. Let's do trees at Jay.

But right now I am dealing with the fact that Murphy's law is really a LAW, irrevokable and unavoidable. My Wednesday night race got cancelled because of SNOW, go figure, and therefore I am in the house working on my preps for my classes tomorrow instead of racing right NOW. It is almost 8:00 pm, and I am not done yet with my preps for my classes tomorrow. Had I had a race tonight, I would have made myself be done, like it or not, by 12:00 noon, then gone skiing. So... Murphy's Law #1, which states that the work expands to fill the available time, is in effect. YUKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
