Adding Pit Zips to favourite ski jacket!

This is a very pretty ski jacket from CMP, with snowflake design. It has a very nice fit and is neutral enough to go with all of my various coloured trousers. However, I did think it was a bit warm the last time I wore it and this, I attributed to the lack of pit zips. All of my other coats (Salomon, Schöffel) have pit zips, even they felt too warm this year with the zips left open. I have been looking into getting a shell jacket for Spring skiing, not an easy task to find anything within a reasonable price range, is sustainably produced and has decent colours. Unless, I want to upgrade to Narrona!! In comparison, Patagonia's colours are very blah boring and frankly quite ugly.

One done!! It was a bit more work than I had counted on, especially with the mesh liners. I did make the mistake of getting separable zips, but couldn't be bothered to take them back. I think that it will do nicely.

Impressive! I can't sew a stitch, so to me, this is really amazing. Be sure to post a picture of yourself wearing the jacket when you're done.

Nice job. Suggest to use coil zips next time. Tooth zippers generally aren't used in this application.
You are absolutely right, I was in a hurry and just picked up the first ones that I found. I made it unnecessarily hard on myself. Right colour though!

it's pretty hard to find the right stuff at a local fabric store. I mail ordered just about everything for my repair shop. WAWAK, Outdoors Wilderness Fabrics are just a few of the places I used.

That's a good shout, it looks like they have everything. We have this amazing fabric store in the center where we buy groceries, it is very dangerous to go shopping these days. I don't think that I will be tempted to do another set of pit zips again.
