A woman with long grey braids in the half-pipe.

More teen programs for kids to ski, ride, and socialize together, while learning safety and etiquette skills in a fun way.

Lower priced lift tickets.

More racial and cultural diversity on the hill.

Cooler looking ski gear for women (which why I tend toward snowboarding gear).

Inexpensive chair massages in the lodge.

New ski racks that have a lower bar too so it's easy to lock up without having to turn your skis tip down.

No rain in New England from December 1 - April 15

My list would be most importantly...

lower lift ticket prices I don't see how blue collar families can afford to take their kids on ski vacations anymore. And without kids learning the sport, who will support the industry in later years?

Lower food prices on the mountain. Again....$8 and $9 for hamburgers and fries for the kids...

Ski jackets for women that are sized for a normal sized woman in the 14-16 range, not so many geared for the sizes 8's and 10's. Ski jackets for the most part, are cut smaller than coats in a department store, so that leaves the 14-16 woman with hardly any choice in coats. In fact, most ski shops I have been in have very few of them in women's XL......yet we see plenty of mens XXL, even XXXL's. You can tell this is a pet peeve of mine.....:mad2: And I also do not want to pay $400-600 for a coat to wear a few days of the year.

Lift attendants with the ability to shoot anybody who stops to adjust their gear or strap on their boards right in front of you as you exit a lift.

and finally, cheap drink specials at the bottom of the mountain after a hard tiring day..

I agree with the cheaper lodge food. Copper has even started charging for hot water cups. :mad2:

And the clothing for larger women. I know of one brand that I can regularly find pants in my size. Sure, I want to loose weight but I'm not gonna quit skiing until I do.

More education about the skier responsibility code for those that are new to skiing/snowboarding.

I've often mentioned to my skiing/riding buddies, only half-jokingly, that lifties and patrollers should be equipped with potato guns in order to shoot snowballs at offenders of all types.

my skiing wish list:

- no hat hair

- blow dryers in the lodge (I'm going to bring my own next time so I don't feel like a slob while hanging out apres ski)

- no ice

- no non-skiing days !

- NO JANUARY THAW!!! We go through this every year in the northeast. And it always stinks.

- Moguls with no ice! Just soft, fluffy piles, please.

- Lower lift prices. I agree with bettei. I don't know how people with families do it.

- Clothing that automatically adjusts to the ambient temperature, so you'd always be dressed just right.

January thaw pretty much seems to be part of the deal out here :( I could also live without it.
At this exact point in time, I'll wish for:
- precipitation of the frozen variety (sadly, Friday looks grim...)
- temperatures cold enough (that STAY that way) for snowmaking and groomers to patch up the damage....Sugarloaf didn't even open on Wednesday and could barely get enough open by noon today. It was 100% open last Sunday.... ......

Try Marmot, in the past I have found their jackets to be cut more generously than others. They have been selling out to alot of discount places like TJ Maxx and you can find them on Sierra Trading, Backcountry Outlet alot also. They do have a lifetime warranty too though, so even if you do pay a little more, they will stand behing their product if anything goes wrong.

They do this at our area too, my daughter and her friend evidentially tried to return theirs for a refund when they were done using them. I have to laugh, just not in front of her.

Will second the vote for Sierra Trading Post - just got a catalog from them yesterday and noticed a number of jackets offered in your preferred size. Check them out online. They have a very good return policy as well.

I stop wishing for lower lodge food price any more. Instead, I bring a thermo, filled with hot soup. Some cracker or bread. A pack of cocoa, just add not water. Sports drink, just add ice. That's pretty much it.

They can jack up the food price, I can bring my own. If they make it more reasonable, they'll have my business. Their choice.

Lower ticket price would really help. But I'm not worry for the blue collar families. I just make my choice by hunting for coupons and discounts.

What I really, really want back, from 10 years ago, is not the prices. I want the snow to return to the lower Hudson so that I can x-c ski out the door!!! :(

Thought I'd revive this old thread.

What's on your skiing wish list? Or for those of you who've already answered, has anything changed?

My ski wishes...

- Cheaper food or at least better food for what I'm spending.
- Cheaper lift tickets and gear (but who wouldn't want that?!)
- Petite ski clothing (this is purely selfish b/c I'm stuck somewhere between kids clothing and the smallest women's sizes)
- Less ice on the east coast, please!
- And mostly I just wish I lived in Vermont, or maybe Upstate NY. I'm pretty sure I'm a New Englander at heart, who happened to be born in the wrong place and then also moved to the wrong place.
- Oh, and free lockers and ski valet for all!!

A powder lesson with Ursula at Big Sky.

(which of course, requires "time and powder" - great answer btw)

After that . . .

- skiing with as many Divas as possible this winter
- getting to demo the Volkl Kiku and the Atomic Century
