Ack . . . meant "unusual." At least for an American who went to elementary school in the 1950s-60s.

No worries, I understood what you meant! Sometimes it feels like I'm an imposter when people are impressed about my language skills. French classes started in 5th grade of elementary school and English classes in the first year of junior high - both were mandatory. There's a lot of incentive to learn other languages when there's so few countries around the world where you can speak Dutch :becky:
