A new way to buy lift tickets?

This could be interesting. A team of San Francisco-based entrepreneurs has just launched Liftopia, a marketplace for ski lift tickets that could bring airline-type dynamic pricing to ski resort operators. They plan to partner with resorts to sell discount lift tickets on line.

Right now their offerings are somewhat limited. But it's a new business, so maybe that'll change, in the months ahead.

Anyway, you can read about it here or visit the company's web site, https://www.liftopia.com.

:bump:

Just thought I'd bump this up. Good way to score some great lift pass deals.

now how cool was that! I just scored 4 tickets at Gunstock Mountain for $7 each.

So now my son and I are taking our first weekend ski trip way ahead of any other year :snow:

Neat I hope they add some more Canadian spots. The smaller Quebec and Ontario resorts would probably go for this.

Pretty cool, now if only they had a flexible date finder where you didn't have to pick the days you were going to be there (it only goes up to 10 days from the start date you type in) and it would be a nice way of picking which resort you were going to head to and when your vacation would be....

K.

I agree. If there were some function where it just posted all the offers currently available for a region or resort, rather than having to search for them by date....that would rule.

Another thing to keep in mind is that some resorts offer Military or Government discounts if you ask at the ticket line. I typically get 50% off for military dependent. They dont widely advertise this...

There are some good deals there! I just wish they had the deals for all dates!

Who says people don't listen to Divas?

I just got the nicest note from one of the founders of Liftopia, and thought I'd pass it on. It has some interesting info about some upcoming improvements to the site:

I noticed that the post about us jumped up the page recently, and there were some pointers that your members made about Liftopia. Since I am not a woman (saw the forum rules) I didn’t want to register, but thought maybe you could pass along some details to your members if it is helpful?

Some of the members in the post had some suggestions, and I wanted to let them know that we are listening and are working on some updates to the site to make the experience easier. Most specifically, we will be adding a tool in the next few weeks that will allow people to view all deals available for a resort without having to do an “easter egg hunt” to find them…

Either way, I hope things are going well for your board, and feel free to send any questions my way.

Thanks, here’s to some snow!

Extra props to him for not attempting to register  ! I wish I had a nickel for every man who fails to grasp the fine point that this is a women's only site!

Proof that our time on here is not wasted!!!

Cool!

Oh, and manufacturers and stores DO pay attention to what people write on sites like this... I once got a $25 gift certificate from a local bike shop because I posted a favorable review about it on a biking website. Turns out I had mention Specialized, and they apparently search forums for mention of their products, they saw my post and then sent it to the bike shop who is one of their dealers, and the bike shop got in touch with me via emails! It was a nice surprise!

That is very cool (both that they are listening and that he didn't try to register himself!)

Wow, how great is it that the company was googling, or whatever, and is being responsive to the feedback. Yea for SkiDivas and Liftopia:thumbsup:

I am so impressed, I am now going to check out that site. Anyone who actually listens deserves my business.

I will purposefully avoid that sight for the next two weeks... I really don't need further temptation to blow off my commitments for the next two weekends! But then I will go and partake!

The Divas have spoken and Liftopia has listened!

Well, actually, this is probably something they were already working on, but I just learned they're testing a feature we were talking about: looking at prices for multiple dates at a time, using a calendar feature that can be expanded after you start a search. Sounds like a great add on!

Anyone used the site? How'd it work out for you?
