A Great Day today!

After being unable to ski for the last 10 days due to work related things, a bit of snow fell yesterday evening and being finally free today we hot tailed it up to Squaw for the day. Temp was mid 40's, sunny and not a cloud in the sky, and the snow was not so bad. A bit soft, but unlike in past years when I HATED these conditions, today in my new wider/longer Salomons I absolutely loved it and I skied right until the lifts closed at 4:00. Virtually nobody was there, the runs were empty, and I spent the day practicing the big wide turns my skis seem to do best with and just loving the new sensations of these turns. I had been wondering what kind of snow these skis would really shine in, and this was it! Just the best imaginable ride! I now realize that with my previous skis....too short, too soft, I simply could not do these big, wide, stable turns. And my new S's just plow thru the mashed potatoes like they're not even there, not even a blip.

There are a lot of Dynastar fans here...and I met a woman today who had the purple DL's you've all been raving about. We compared notes....she had just bought them and had moved up from a ski similar to my old ones, and she noticed the same wonderful things about her new Dynastars that I had noticed with my Salomons. I think these two skis are probably pretty similar, actually. She said she had tried the Volkl Luna's but liked the Dynastars far better. She had also gone longer and wider waist than her previous Atomics, so I think those two factors definitely influence the stability that we both had immediately noticed and loved.

I hope conditions at least maintain for awhile....I can't bear to see everything melt away. :(

I'm green with envy:p ; I can visualize Squaw because our club's annual "outwest" trip included it two years ago. My last day was 3/18 and there was little left in NC then.:( We saw a very light snow year in this part of the country. Enjoy every day you can!:ski2: :snow:

One last weekend of skiing here, then I must be patient to Mothers day at Abasin.

I'm such a Gear Ho, I've been the target of many comments about a good indian can perform with skill with anything in his/her quiver, but I'm of the mindset..............There are many awesome and fun tools for different jobs, why not take the big boards out and let it rip!!!!

I love my Bros in the spring crud!!!
I'd say I love my Elan Wave Spice but I haven't been allowed to touch them since Brandi borrowed them from me back in December :faint:
