Wow.
Inspiration.
ear to ear grins.
flailing wheels, wind, sand and grit, the rain. Oh why does it have to rain so. Doesn't mother nature know, doesn't she CARE? I don't have every day of the week to do this! A calm serenity washes over, not unlike the rain drops quickly soaking my every inch. The water brings more than just refreshing coolness, it washes my thoughts away, my cares, my concerns. It calms and soothes me. Granted, my wheels are spinning slower than I would like, but does it matter? I am on a trail, in the woods, smelling the freshly oxygenated air, breathing the moisture and the dripping rain. Alive.
More so than ever before.
I ride.
Thunder, lightning, a curtain of water falling the from the sky onto the leaves and finally my head.
I ride.
Mud flailing, sailing shooting up my back, on my legs, in my face.
I ride.
Down the hills, up the hills. Watch out for those roots.
I ride.
My confidence builds, and I feel it setting in.
That moment, THE moment, when I become one with the bike. The Zen of mountain biking. That time when I have shut my head off to the world, and just let go to the ride. I dont think, I dont contemplate.
I.
Just.
RIDE.
Wow.
